Valeria
I awoke, then climbed out of bed, falling onto the floor with a thud. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs and down the hall until Cameron reached my room. I whimpered, lying on the floor, then I lost control of my bladder. I turned my head, so I didn't face Cameron.
I didn't want Cameron to see me like this. It was embarrassing. Then someone lifted me off the floor and carried me to the bathroom. Cameron set me down, then ran a bath as I stood there, moving my hand to my bandana.
After the tub filled with water, Cameron turned off the faucet, then helped me undress. I couldn't look at him and covered my chest with my arms.
"Look at me, Valeria," Cameron coaxed as I turned my head to face him. He reached up and moved my arms gently away from my chest. "You don't have to hide from me. I won't laugh."
I furrowed my brows as he took my hand and led me to the tub, helping me into it. I sat down and sat there. Cameron grabbed a sponge and started washing me.
"I feel useless," I whispered.
Cameron stopped and looked at me. "Why?" He questioned.
I looked at Cameron. "Because I'm a mess. I even urinated on myself. I couldn't make it to the bathroom because my legs gave out on me. That's why I fell," I explained.
"You had a bad day. Today's treatment was rough. No one faults you for that," Cameron reassured me.
I nodded as Cameron finished cleaning me. He helped me out of the tub and dried me off, then wrapped a towel around me. He picked me up and carried me to the bedroom, setting me down on the bed.
"Stay here so I can clean up the mess, then I'll help you get dress," Cameron told me.
I didn't have the energy to argue as he left the room. A few minutes later, he returned with a mop and bucket, cleaning up my mess. He took both back downstairs as I waited, then returned.
"I think something comfortable should work," Cameron mentioned, gathering clothes for me. He walked over and helped me dress as I watched him. He was gentle with me and never once complained. It made me appreciate him more.
"There, that should work," Cameron mentioned, looking at me.
"Thank you," I replied, leaning in and pressing my lips to Cameron's lips. He reached up and put his hands on my face, kissing me back. He pulled back and looked at me. "I enjoy your thanks."
That made me chuckle softly. Cameron chuckled.
"What can I say? I have a charm about me," I joked, making him laugh.
"How about I fix you something to eat, then we can watch a movie together?" Cameron suggested.
"As long as you don't mind if I fall asleep," I answered with a look.
"I think I can handle a beautiful woman cuddling up to me," Cameron said with a smirk.
That made me smile. I know people would say, don't worry about someone calling you beautiful, worry about your life. When you look hideous and feel awful, it's nice to hear even if the other person doesn't mean it. I mean, who would love someone receiving chemotherapy and lost their chest?
Cameron and I kissed a few times, but nothing more. I doubt he would want to touch a body with scars. Yes, I was questioning Cameron, but after Richard, I didn't think a guy would want me.
Cameron helped me downstairs and to the kitchen. I sat at the table while he made lunch.
"Can I ask you a question?" I asked.
