Finding The Right One |Chapter 37

Lindsey POV
The Next Day-6:23pm

I parked my car in the parking lot of the mall and I got a text from akira.

My Queen 👑🥰: When you coming back, you need to stop at Walmart and pick up some more diapers and baby soap

Me: Ight

I put my phone down and put it in my fanny pack that I put around my chest like a sash.

I walked into the mall and I went into the jewelry store where I got Londyn her gold bracelet dapping the man at the front.

"What you lookin foe Lindsey" he spoke in his deep New York accent.

"Wassup, I'm looking for a engagement ring" I told him.

"Ahh I see you wanna propose to ya girl, I gotchu" he said.

He walked over to all the rings and I followed him over there and there was a lot of good options but I need the best one he got.

"So what you looking for specifically? Something plain or exotic" he asked.

"You already know I gotta go all out so something exotic" I replied.

"Ight so boom, all of em is right here on this side. Let me help this otha customer and I'll be back" he said.

"Ight" I replied.

He walked away and I looked at all of the options, I saw a few that I liked but then my eyes landed on the one I had to get for her.

He came back some minutes later and I told him to pull this rose gold crown ring with diamonds in it.

He pulled it out and I held it in my hand and examined it. "Yea this the one" I told him.

"Aigh boss man ima box it up for you then I'll give you the price" he said as I gave it back to him.

I followed him back to the cash register and he put it in a little black box and then put the box in a bag.

"The ring willl be $1,500" he said.

That was slight so I took the money out my sash and gave it to him. I grabbed the bag and dapped him up.

"Ight man see you soon" he spoke.

"You to" I said then left the store and mall and got back in my car.

I drove the Walmart and then I went to the baby aisle and got some diapers and the baby soap and then I went to the speakers aisle.

The proposal I planned out in my head was something I wouldn't even expect myself to do but I gotta do what I gotta do.

I bought a big speaker with a microphone attached to it and then I went back in my car with it all in my trunk except for the ring.

At Home

"Hey baby, you got the stuff I asked you to get?" She asked.

"Yea here" I said giving her the soap and the diapers.

"What's in that other bag?" She asked pointed at the black bag that I had the ring in.

"I stopped at the bodega for some wraps" I lied.

"Ohh okay, can you put Londyn in her crib? I just changed her and she need to take a nap" she said.

"Okay" I said then she took her stuff and I went upstairs to the living room and Londyn was just laying on the floor on her stomach.

"Ki, why you got my baby on the floor like this?" I asked picking her up.

"I was letting her have her tummy time, I couldn't find her blanket I always put under her so I laid her on the rug" she said from the kitchen.

"Mhm" I said then I took her with me upstairs to her room.

"Ight barbie doll you gotta go to sleep" I said kissing her cheek then I laid her in the crib.

I went in her closet and hid the ring in there cause she don't ever be looking down here so I just hid it.

I left the room and turned off her light and shut the door behind me.

After I went down the stairs I saw Akira on her lap top in the living room so I laid next to her putting my head on her shoulder.

"What you doing" I asked her.

"They gave me a new case so I'm working on it right now" she replied.

"What it is about?" I asked.

"Some woman murdered these two men over her teen who was allegedly harassing her" she spoke.

"Damn what's the evidence you got so far?" I asked.

"Only what the lady's words but we haven't gotten the daughters words yet, but I can't tell you all this" she chuckled.

"Why I'm yo husband" I looked at her and smiled.

"Boy please there is no ring on my finger" she said.

But little did she know that she will soon enough.
