Annabeth's POV

After school, Percy and I walked to my house together. I was still a bit damp and wearing his sweatshirt, but I would change once we got there. My stepmom had taken my stepbrothers shopping, so we had the house to ourselves. I found out Percy only lived a block from me.

"Here we are." I unlocked the front door and led Percy in. He sat on the couch as I ran to my room.

I changed into an oversized purple shirt and dark blue jeans. Before heading out, I put on a thin layer of lipgloss. I don't know why, because I never wear lipgloss. I met Percy in the living room.

"So... Tutor. What are we learning today?" He joked. I smirked and sat down, pulling his hand so he would sit with me. We pulled out our homework, and started.

*Bob Says Hello*

"No, the mitochondria has folded membrane inside." I was getting ticked off.

"You wanna take a break?" He asked. He was so chill, as if homework didn't matter.

"Okay. I need to call Thalia and tell her that we might be a little late." I walked off to my room to call Thalia.

*Call*
Me: Hello?
T: Hey Annie!
Me: Don't call me Annie. I called to tell you we might be a little late to the café.
T: Oh, that's great.
Me: Great? How is that great?
T: Well, my mom got a bit sick, so we closed early. Hangout canceled.
Me: Okay. I hope she feels better. I gotta go now, bye.
T: Bye
*End*

I hung up and went back to Percy. He was drinking a glass of... blue?

"Percy... what is that?"

"Oh... he he. I found some blue food coloring, so I put it in my water." He gave me a lopsided smile.

I rolled my eyes. "Of course."

"So," he said, coming closer. "Tell me about you."

I sighed. "Well, I live with my dad and annoying stepmom. I have twin stepbrothers. My mom died when I was ten, and I got my looks from her. I love reading and architecture. What about you?"

"I live with my mom and stepdad. My dad died when I was younger. I love my mom's cookies. I love swimming and the color blue."

"I can see that, Seaweed Brain."

"Hey, don't call me names, Wise Girl."

"Wow, such a hurtful name," I said sarcastically. "And let me guess. Your mom makes you blue cookies?"

"Actually, you're correct."

"You're kidding me."

"No, I'm not. I'll prove it. Let's make cookies now. We don't have to go anywhere."

"Wait." I stopped him. "How did you know about the cancelation?"

He scratched the back of his neck. "I uh... heard you and Thalia talking."

I raised and eyebrow. "Stalker."

"Am not!

"Are too!"

"Am not!

"Shut up, Seaweed Brain!"

He pouted. "Can we pweaz make blu cooookies?" He asked. He gave me puppy eyes. Oh, wait. More like baby seal eyes.

I gave in. "Ugh. Fine!"

After an hour of baking and making a mess, we had some blue cookies. We cleaned, and I put the cookies on a plate, and we went back to the living room. After an hour of tutoring, I heard voices from the front door. My step family was home.

"Hello, Annabeth. Why is there a boy woth you? Alone in this house?" The first thing she did was lecture me.

"Helen, I was just tutoring him."

"And why are there mutant cookies in the kitchen?"

"We just food-colored them blue."

"Whatever. Just get out of my sight!" Helen yelled. I took my things and led Percy to my bedroom, the one room Helen that couldn't barge in.

"Sorry about that. She's a bitch," I explained to Percy.

"I get it. My stepdad drinks and plays poker 24/7."

"It's good to know someone who understands."

"Yeah, it is."

*A Dam Line Break*

After finishing our homework, I showed Percy to the door.

"Goodnight." I pulled him in for a small hug. Real suttle, Annabeth.

"Goodnight. See you tomorrow."
