Percy's POV
The next day after school, I went to Annabeth's house. And every other day. Then came Thursday. I was walking with her to her house. We were laughing at something that happened to Drew at lunch. Spaghetti sauce all over her sweater.
After an hour of tutoring and doing homework, we took a break and went to her room because her parents were home. I liked her room. She had light gray walls and furniture. Her bedspread was red and white.
I flopped down on her bed, and saw Annabeth roll her eyes. She looked beautiful. Her hair was up, but a few curls framed her face. She was wearing dark shorts that showed her legs, and an orange tank top.
"You look really pretty," I blurted out. WHAT THE HELL, JACKSON. SHE'LL HATE YOU.
Annabeth's POV
Oh my god. He called me pretty. Okay, act cool.
"Sorry. It just. Blurted out."
"No, it's cool. Nothing wrong with being called pretty." I laughed one of those awkward laughs.
We sat in silence for a bit, until he broke it.
"So, I was thinking... do you, uh, wanna go to the movies on Saturday?" He said. He looked confused, as if he didn't know what he said. I was practically yelling in the inside.
"Yeah, sounds fun. Now, let's get back to work."
*Saturday*
I was getting ready. I had a good friend, Piper, who helped me with this stuff. I video called her
"Hello, Beauty Queen. How are ya?"
"Annabeth! Hey, what's up?"
"I just need help with my outfit."
"Why?"
"I... have a date today."
"Finally! I've been waiting for this day!"
After an hour of going through my closet and learning the proper step-by-step instructions on makeup, I was ready. I was wearing a black sweater and light jeans. I had a gray beanie on with the word BOSS written across. My gray converse finished it off. My makeup was simple. My eyes stood out, thanks to the liner and mascara. I had a light pink tint to my lips. I had no blemishes, so there was no point in concealer.
The doorbell rang. He was here. I was the only one home, so I casually walked down the stairs and grabbed my gray bag. I opened the door to Percy.
"Hi!" I smiled.
"Hey, are you ready?" He gestured towards a black car.
"Yeah, is that your car?"
"My mom's. Come on." He grabbed my hand and led me to the car, opening the passenger door for me.
"Thanks." I climbed in, and we went to the movie theater.
It was pretty busy. I wasn't in the mood for chick flick. He wasn't in the mood for action. We settled on some new romantic horror story.
"I'll pay for myself." I gave the ticket guy the money.
"You didn't have to do that. I could've paid," he whined.
I laughed and poked him. "Too late."
Percy bought some soda and popcorn for both of us. We came in and got middle seats. Then the stupid advertisements.
Later into the movie, I noticed that Percy had an arm around my chair. I blushed, even though he looked like he didn't notice a thing.
Percy's POV
I knew Annabeth would catch me. I slowly put an arm around her chair. A while later, I saw her blush out of the corner of my eyes. I smiled inside.
After the movie was over, we got up and left. Annabeth wasn't phased at all. I was impressed, because that movie creeped me out.
"Let's go to Thalia's mom's café," Annabeth said. "It's across the street."
We made our way to the café. Thalia was gone, so we got a booth and had some cookies, which were sadly not blue.
"So, Percy. Do you move a lot?"
I take a second to answer. "Yeah. Gabe doesn't like living in one place too long." The truth was, I got expelled. A lot. But I wanted to stay in New York.
"Oh. Have you ever been to New York before?"
"Yeah. I actually went to Goode when I was a freshman. The we moved."
"Are you gonna move again?" She asked slowly. I was glad she wanted me to stay.
"I don't want to, and I don't think I will."
She smiled and bit into a cookie.
I walked her home a while later. When we got to her house, she stopped me.
"Thanks for the date," Annabeth said. Her eyes shone in the moonlight. Gabe would kill me for being late. So what?
"My plessure, my lady." I bowed to her. She giggled and slapped my arm. I stood up straight. Her lips were inches from mine.
She was the one to close the gap.
