Percy's POV

The night of prom, I was really nervous. I kept having to fix my red tie and groom my hair; it never stay in place.

"Stop worrying, Percy. You look great!" My mom reassured me.

I hadn't seen Annabeth's dress yet, but I knew it was red. Red looked amazing on Annabeth. Mom then handed me some purple flowers, and I hopped into her car to pick Annabeth up. Annabeth and I had agreed not to overdue the night. Simple was the best we could do since we were saving for college.

As soon as I got to her house, I saw Annabeth waiting for me at the front door. She was wearing a long red dress that suited her perfectly. Her hair was up in a braided bun, with a few twirls framing her beautiful face. She smiled when she saw me in my black suit with a red tie. I was really nervous looking at her.

"Are those for me, Percy?" Annabeth pointed at the purple flowers.

"No, Annabeth, they're for this bush." I mockingly handed the flowers to a nearby bush, making Annabeth laugh. I then handed her the flowers and held Annabeth close as she admired them.

"Alright you two, let me take pictures!" Annabeth's parents came out and took a dozen photos of us before we headed back. When we got to the school, seniors were everywhere, all wearing fancy clothes and taking pictures and having a good time.

"Finally, Percy. We're doing something normal teenagers do."

"Annabeth, who said we were normal?"

Annabeth held my hand and led me into the school. We went to our friends, who were all talking in a corner.

"They're about to call Prom Royalty," Piper informed us. A teacher came up on stage, holding a piece of paper.

At our school, you voted online for the royalty. The nominees for Queen had been Annabeth (because she was kidnapped), Piper, and Drew. The nominees for king were me (I was freaking kidnapped), Jason, and oddly Leo. Don't ask, I don't know.

"Attention, Ladies and Gentlemen. I will now be announcing the prom king and queen!"

A roar of applaud broke out as the nominees made their ways to the stage.

"For king, our winner is... Leo McShizzle Valdez?! Who's Leo McShizzle Valdez?"

"Woop! The king wins!" Leo snatched the crown, placing it rightfully on his head. He must've hacked the votes online. The nominees all sat down

"Whatever," the teacher muttered. "For Queen, our winner is... Annabeth Chase!"

A roar went up as Annabeth took the tiara. Oddly, the first thing she did was throw it to Hazel in the crowd. Annabeth hated attention and anything feminist. This was pretty messed up to her. She then smirked at Drew, left the stage, and skipped over to me.

That's Annabeth for you.

Annabeth's POV

Percy and I were in the corner of the room, eating cookies and drinking fruit punch.

We were laughing at something when he leaned in slowly, staring at my lips longingly. I smiled and jerked my head forward to meet him halfway. It was a sweet, short kiss, and I enjoyed every second.

"Life is so tough, Wise Girl."

"Don't expect me to make it easier for you, Seaweed Brain."
