3rd Person POV
The man opened up the door, just missing his target.
She jumped, using the bloody window! He thought, walking over to it.
The girl had fled, leaving nothing. Police sirens sounded in the distance. The man left, leaving not one trace, but a key chain. One with a logo of a bloody 'M' on it.
Annabeth's POV
I ran like my life depended on it. It did, actually. I didn't know where to go. I couldn't wait for the police, because the person might be chasing me. I ran to a place not far, Percy's. I cried, while running. I was afraid.
Who was that? What did this person want?
When I got to Percy's apartment building, I clambered up the stairs, not caring for the slow elevators. When I got to Percy's, I didn't care to be polite. I kept the doorbell repeatedly, until an annoyed -and shirtless- Percy answered the door. His face became worried when he saw my crying one.
"Annabeth, what happened?" He opened the door wider, letting me in. I burst into tears, staring at my ended call. The cops were at my house now. Sally came in, wearing a robe.
"What's going on? Annabeth, sweety, what happened?"
"I-I was h-home alone a-and someone was in th-the house so I called the p-police and rran over here," I stuttered. Percy pulled me in for a hug, and Sally gently rubbed my back.
"The police will handle it. I'll call and tell them you're here, okay? Then I'll make us all tea." Sally headed for the kitchen.
I sobbed into Percy's bare chest. He kissed my forehead, and rubbed my back. After a good cry, I wiped away the tears on my cheeks.
"Come on, you need to rest." Percy led me to his room, resting me on his bed. He lied down next to me, enveloping me with his arms. I fell asleep fast.
Sally's POV
After telling the policemen to come tomorrow, I ended the call. I only made myself a cup of tea, because I knew Percy and Annabeth would go to sleep, and I was right. I found them sleeping together in Percy's room. I just smiled though, because I knew Percy wouldn't hurt her. He would never hurt Annabeth.
Is it weird that I ship them and don't mind if they sleep together?
Percy's POV
"I didn't see anyone. I ran away from that place as fast as I could." Annabeth was talking to the police in my living room. She refused to go down to the station.
"So you just ran? Did you even call your parents?" I hated the policewoman interrogating Annabeth like she was the criminal herself.
"Actually, I contacted her parents last night," Mom said from her spot beside Annabeth. I was standing by the door, watching. I wasn't really supposed to, but meh.
"And they didn't even come home?"
"Her step mother is at her relatives, and her father is at an out-of-state meeting. Her father knows she's with us."
"So they just let her spend a night at her boyfriend's?"
Really.
"I was here! Are you accusing us of something?"
"No, of course not. I just need all the facts." The policewoman finished up, taking her cop friends and leaving. Annabeth ran into my arms, and I stroked her blonde curls.
"It's okay, you're Wise Girl, remember?"
She nodded, taking a deep breath. We sat on the couch, enjoying each other's company.
"Let's just hope they catch the bastard." Annabeth fell into my arms.
