Sally's POV
"Ms. Jackson, we have reasons to conclude that your son and Annabeth Chase have been kidnapped be the Monster's Association," the policewoman informed.
"Where is he?" I was going insane.
"We don't know, ma'am. We think they'll kill them if we don't act soon."
"Why would the Monsters take him?"
"Gabe Ugliano. We have reason to believe he was involved with them."
"Is it possible for me to see him?"
At my question, the policewoman thought. "Well you can, but we've been trying for days. He ain't saying."

"Sally Jackson, you can see him now." I was called to the cells where the prisoners were kept. I straightened out my coat and made my way to the prison, a police officer escorting me. When we reached Gabe's cell, I was horrified. He looked awful.
"Sally Jackson. Never thought I'd see my lovely wife again." He sounded drunk, even though he wasn't allowed any alcohol. This was how he always sounded.
"Hello, Gabe. My son, Percy. Your stupid gang kidnapped him. Where the hell are those cowards hiding?" I glared at him, feeling like slapping him. He was behind rusty bars, though. Out of my reach."
"Is that any way to great your husband? In some cultures, that would be horrid."
"You are not my husband."
"Whatever, Sugar. The kid, you was sayin'. I don't know nothin' 'bout this kidnappin'. Sounds fun though. I bet they beatin' him into a pulp right now. Won't kill him 'till he near death already."
I gasped. "They're torturing him?"
"If that's what they call it."
I left. I couldn't take it, not knowing where my son was. I collapsed on a park bench outside the prison, crying my eyes out. People walked by me, some staring, some ignoring, some completely oblivious. A man sat down next to me on the bench, and for a moment, didn't say a thing.
"Are you alright?" He asked after I finished crying.
"Yes, sorry to bother you. I'll get going."
I grabbed my purse and got up, but was pulled back down slowly by him.
"It's okay, you know, to cry. Losing someone that close."
I turned to stare at him, confused. "How do you know why I'm crying?"
"You're Sally Jackson, aren't you? Your son was kidnapped. I read it in the local news."
I relaxed, and sat back down. The man smiled at me. He seemed familiar, but I didn't know why.
"My name's Paul Blofis. I knew Percy, he was one of my students."
That's where I remembered him. He was Percy's English teacher.
"Oh, yes. You're the one that thinks he needs tutoring."
"Yeah, and his dyslexia kinda pushes him behind kids."
"Oh, I really wish he's okay."
"He will be. Why don't I take you out for coffee, my treat. You look like you could use a talk."
