3rd Person POV

"Approach with caution, I repeat, approach with caution."

The cops slowly walked towards the old warehouse, guns pointed out. Reaching the door, the cheif smashed it in, and the police stepped in.

They'd found this out thanks to Luke Castellan. Luke had known about the Monsters because he used to work with them as a young boy, doing silly little errands. He'd seen their leader, and know where they'd hidden. But young Luke hadn't known about the Monsters themselves, the ruthless murderers that took money.

Most of the Monsters surrendered, some fought, some escaped. The process was hours long, and some policemen and women had died. After decontaminating the place, they went around to look for prisoners.

They reached Annabeth Chase and Percy Jackson last.

Annabeth's POV

"What's that noise, Percy?"

Shooting, yelling, fighting, there were noises filling the large warehouse. What is going on?

"I have no idea Annabeth. We haven't heard anything like this in the six weeks we've been in this shitty cage."

The door burst open, and men in uniforms with guns pointed out came running in. The police!

"Look! It's Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase!"

We were dragged apart, and they carried us out. Tears of joy, shock, and even fear filled my eyes. Percy was questioning everything, nearly clueless.

And then I saw the first ray of sunshine I'd seen in weeks. I yelled out as they put me in a stretcher in an ambulance, next to Percy. They put a mask on my face, checking my pulse as they drove to the hospital. I remember the nurse telling me it wouldn't hurt before I fell asleep.

Percy's POV

I woke up in a white room, sunshine spilling through white curtains. I was in a real bed, with clean clothing. My body ached, and I couldn't get up.

"Good, you're up." A nurse walked in, writing on a clipboard. The nurse was followed by my mother, who ran to my side quick as lightning.

"PERCY! THANK GOODNESS YOU'RE ALIVE. Y-YOU DONT U-UNDERSTAND HOW M-MUCH I MISSED YOU!" Mom started crying and hugging me tightly.

"Mom, where's Annabeth?"

"She's in the next room. Her father is with her; she woke up an hour before you."

"Can I see her?"

"Sure, but she's in tons of pain. The cut on her back will leave a mark on her forever."

They rolled my wheelchair into another room, where Annabeth was with her father. When he saw me, his eyes flashed with anger for a split second.

"I'm glad you're alright, Percy," he said in a stone cold voice, grabbing Annabeth's hand.

"Percy!" Annabeth wrapped her arms around me, wincing in pain. I hugged her back, burying my head in her soft, clean hair.

"I'm so sorry, Annabeth," I said, grabbing her shoulders after I was done hugging her. "It was my fault."

"It's not your fault."

"If you'd never met me, you would be fine right now." Tears slipped from my eyes, and even though our parents were watching, I didn't care.

"Um, excuse me, Percy, but Annabeth has to talk to the doctors. We all need to leave." Annabeth's dad ushered me out the door. Before I could wheel myself back to my room, he stopped me. "We need to talk."

"Yes, Mr. Chase?"

"Percy, my daughter is in the hospital. I know you aren't responsible, but I'd like you to stay away from Annabeth for a while, okay? I don't need her getting hurt."

"What?"

"You heard me. In a month, when they estimate to let you out, she is no longer your tutor or your girlfriend."

"You can't do that!"

Mr. Chase got frustrated. "I can, Percy, and I have."
