Its 3 am now and I'm not too sure why I'm not tired. I feel like I just woke up from a three month hibernation. Its probably the blood; yeah that's definitely it. Blood just makes me feel like I'm a hundred years younger, no pun intended.
I soon arrive to the front door that squeaks out in protest yet again under my influence of it moving out of the normal space. The warmer air of the house instantly comforts me considering how cold it was outside,
Right when I'm about to head up the stairs I hear a creaking sound coming from the entrance I'd just used. Following the sound, I turn around on my heel and walk right back where I came from. I'm shocked and immediately stop when I see what was the cause of the noise.
Phil is standing there in all black just like me, slipping his shoes on. I almost laughed at how clumsy he is being before I notice the look on his face. He looks horribly distressed and upset, eyebrows furrowed in deep concentration. For a second I could swear I see tears threatening to spill from his eyes. What's gotten him so worked up?
Deciding its probably best not to ask, I just lean against the doorway with a cool and composed look on my face. "Going somewhere?"
He practically jumps three feet in the air as I speak up signalling that he'd definitely not noticed me the whole time I was staring at him. After his miniature freak moment, he gives me a deathly glare. "What the hell are you doing? You nearly gave me a heart attack!" He hisses quiet enough so that Shaun can't hear.
Giving him another smooth grin, I take a step closer to him. "Where are you going this late? Its nearly three a.m." Yeah, okay, so maybe a part of me was actually really curious, but I really just wanted an excuse to keep talking to him.
"What were you doing just coming in the house at 'nearly three a.m?" he quirks an eyebrow up and tilts his head to the side in a sarcastic manner only making me roll my eyes.
Oh I was just, you know, feeding on a probably innocent girl in the park. But I had to stop before I killed her because an imaginary you kept popping into my mind making me feel guilty, so I just came home. You know. The usual.
But of course I can't actually say that; that'd actually be the truth.
"That's irrelevant." I shrug my shoulders nonchalantly at him.
"Well since that's not important, then neither is my reason. So with that I'm going to go." Phil turns around after speaking, reaching his hand for the door.
But of course I have to stop him, because I have to have the last word. And also because I don't want it to be the last word. So I move behind him, reaching an arm over his shoulder and push the door shut with my strength that pretty much no human can beat. When he turns around, he immediately pushes his back against the door to move away from me, but I take that last step and put my face inches away from his like when we were talking in his room.
"Just tell me. Its not like I'm going to tell on you." I add a little sarcastic tone and a shake of the head at the 'tell on you' part, earning an annoyed eye roll from him.
He crosses his arms over his chest and glares up at me. "I'm going to hang out with one of my friends."
Lie. He doesn't have any friends. Sure that sounds kind of harsh, but its true. I would know if he had any by the amount of snooping I'd been doing on this little cutie living down the hall from me. Don't judge me.
Of course I won't tell him that I know he doesn't have friends. Even I won't stoop that low. "Oh. Well in that case, go ahead." My voice is low, practically a whisper as I speak it. I could make him tell me the truth right now if I wanted. I could do a lot of things right now that involve him and compelling. Maybe I could compel him to go up to his room with me and.. No. Nope just push that on out of your head while you're at it. You're taking it slow, remember?
