PHIL'S POV

Not too long after our little question game, Dan and I watched Netflix until we fell asleep. We hadn't really been doing a whole bunch since the funeral.. I haven't been going to school, but then again if I went I wouldn't be able to focus anyways so what's the point?

I woke up a before Dan this morning and, desperately needing some fresh air, decided to go out to town and get some coffee. Naturally, I didn't feel like trying much, so I put on a pair of black skinny jeans with a loose fitting black t-shirt and some converse. I don't even attempt to do my hair, just brushing it to the side at a sloppy attempt at my usual fringe.

The weather is as nice as can be expected, slightly overcast and chilly; normal for this time of year. Not many people are out considering its a school day, thank god. I couldn't handle anybody from school coming up to me and talking about not seeing me anymore or even my dad.

Luckily, there are only about five other people in the cafe as I enter, the scent of the coffee instantly soothing my worries.  Coffee shops always seem to bring a strange sense of peace to me.  I guess its because of how quiet they are, but also not at the same time.  There usually isn't any talking besides the rare murmurs or whispers from tables on the other side of the cafe.   Besides that there's only the low purr of machines grinding up coffee.

I order caramel macchiatos for Dan and myself, and I let my eyes scan the area for a place to wait for both of our sweet drinks to be made. My sight is set on a tiny booth towards the back corner of the cafe, secluded, just how I like it. Nobody would bother me if I was back there.

So that's where I go. I sit and pull out my phone, scrolling through pictures of Dan and I and then me and my dad..

Just as I'm getting into a depressive mood, the sound of someone's voice interrupts the peaceful silence of my secluded peacefulness. I look up with an almost irritated look which is almost instantly wiped away when I stare into the eyes of the person standing above me.

The guys straight chestnut colored hair swipes perfectly to the right side of his head, little strands out of place just enough to give him his edgy look. As if his leather jacket and plain dark grey shirt loose enough to hang just below his very prominent collar bones wasn't enough.  Its exposing his rather muscular looking neck with a chain hanging around it. A very odd, dark blue stone dangles from the chain, barely visible due to how long the chain actually is. The lads jawline is sharp enough to cut someone's head off, I swear, and his eyes.. well. They're red. Just like Dan's. His are a little different than Dan's though. They're such a deep maroon that they're almost brown. If not paying close attention, I could've completely dismissed them for dark brown.

Rare condition in which his eyes turn red? Doubt it.

I get so caught up in staring at him that he raises an eyebrow at me with a sly grin across his lips, exposing his already sharpened canine teeth in an extremely dazzling look if I may say so myself. "Cat got your tongue?" Umph that voice. "Mind if I sit?"

Sit? Why would he want to sit with me? A vampire. Is he a vampire? That doesn't seem like a question you'd ask somebody you just met. Then again, 'somebodies' that you meet on the usual basis don't tend to have dark maroon eyes that just happen to resemble the ones of your vampire boyfriend's. "U-Uh-"

"Great." And with that he plops his happy ass in the chair right in front of me. "So tell me. What's your name?"

I furrow my brows at him and open my mouth to respond but then close it almost just as fast. Should I tell him my name? What if he's one of those evil vampires with a bad.. how did Dan say it? Bad energy.
