"Dan.." There's a light shake on my shoulder, but my eyes refuse to tear themselves open. "Daaann wake up. Please."
Phil's pleading voice is enough for me to open my eyes. They're instantly met with his curious blue ones, and just that sight brings a tiny smile to my face. "Good morning, Sunshine." The usual playful tone is in my voice, but I can tell by the look on his face that he wants to talk serious. "Ohh, that's not a good face." I raise an eyebrow at him, but he doesn't say anything, so I take the opportunity to get all my stretches out. "Come on then. Tell me what's on your mind."
"First off, I'm sore as all get out. So if you could try and be a bit more gentle next time that'd be great." His tone says serious, but there's also a hint of blush on his cheeks. "And also back to the point I made the other day," He runs a hand through his already terrible bed head, of course avoiding eye contact. "You can't say bye and then come back and get defensive like I'm only yours, Dan. Its not fair."
"You're right, its not fair." I reach up and let my hand brush against his cheek gently and push his face so that he can look at me again. "I just-" His eyes are distracting me but I can't seem to look away. "It really pissed me off when you brought that girl here last night.. That wasn't like you. And she wasn't even that pretty." The same twist in my gut from last night shows up again, and I bite down on the inside of my lip for a minute to try and keep my irritation down. "I can't be with you. I can't be without you." He looks confused as ever. I just shake my head and look in his eyes. "What am I going to do with you, Phil?"
He reaches up and grabs my hand. "You need to figure it out, Dan. You can't keep running in and out."
He's right. Its not fair for me to say I love him one minute and then say I can't be with him the next. I build him up and then break him down over and over again, and that's not a fair situation for him. If it were somebody else doing that to him I'd make him leave the person immediately. If only there was a way for me and him to be together.. but also not.. openly together to the point where everyone knew about it. Everyone meaning Zoe, his dad and Anthony. Then there would be no worry about Anthony using Phil against me or Zoe having something to antagonize me over.
Then again that still leaves the main problem of me being a vampire and him being a human. Its only terribly hard to control my thirst around him when I'm low on blood. But even with the thirst aside, I don't age at all, Phil does. I would love to change him.. but we seem too off and on with each other, and I also would never want to take Phil's future away from him. That's even more unfair.. There's just no winning.
"How about we both take a day to think about it, yeah?"
He nods slowly. "That's fine, but only today. I won't let you procrastinate this any longer, understand?"
"Oh, I love it when you're all serious and demanding Philly." I grab the back of his head and push him down so that my lips can meet his momentarily. Then I leave a trail of kisses up his jaw so that I can whisper in his ear. "Its almost as hot as the way you were talking to me last night."
Phil reaches up and smacks me right across the head. "Shut up, Dan! Ugh you totally ruined it." Angrily, he untangles himself from the sheets and stands by the edge of the bed looking grumpy.
With the most over dramatic voice I can manage, "Dan puhLEASE fuck me."
"Daniel!" Phil picks up a pillow and smashes it in my face. "Honestly you're so immature."
As he walks away, I snicker before continuing my pestering. "Only you, Dan I promise I only want you just pleease!" Phil glances back over at me with an infuriated expression before slamming the bathroom door, which only causes me to chuckle more. He's so adorable when he's mad it's almost too much to handle.
