The party was progressing smoothly, and from the looks on everyone’s faces, they were all having a good time. The look of the children’s faces as they squirted each other with water guns brought happiness to my face. The look on the girls’ faces while they playfully bothered Liam, it made my heart flutter with glee. I couldn’t help but smile periodically at Liam when he looked at me, seeing that smile come back in response. He’s a good guy, and I could tell he’d be a friend when a friend needed one.
I walked outside the house via the front door and found Kyle sitting on the driveway’s pavement. I sat next to him and nudged him, “Why’re you so angry?”
“I’m not angry. I’m just… irritated.”
“Why? because Liam wouldn’t take the car?”
He shook his head, “It’s not that. It’s just some personal issues. And Liam sure isn’t helping any.”
I sighed and leaned in on Kyle, giving him a heartfelt smile, “Hey, it’ll be alright. And plus, Liam is excited that you’re his first popular boyfriend. Ease up on him, and work him in with the expensive gifts. He wouldn’t know how to take them.”
“I guess I overreacted a little bit then, huh,” he asked, looking at me sheepishly. I saw the smile come back on his face and it made me smile.
“A bit dramatic,” I chuckled lightly, and nudged him playfully. He laughed with me, and I noticed a twinkle in his eye. I blushed lightly, and dropped my head so he wouldn’t see.
“Hey,” he voiced his thoughts, placing a hand on my shoulder, “you’re a good friend,” I smiled, and was caught in the moment. Kyle leaned in and kissed me softly on the lips, causing me to close my eyes and feel the excitement in my chest. My hands caressed his face, and pulled him closer, feeling his body warmth emanate.
We pulled apart and I stared at his pink lips, “Kyle…”
They curved into a beautiful, jaw-dropping smile, “Tell me something. Why am I with Liam, when I could have the King of Livingston?”
His words rang clear in my ears, and I replied in a soft whisper, “Because I’m not gay…”
Kyle sighed and put distance between our bodies, rolling his eyes in annoyance and disbelief, “Do we really have to go through this again? Knight, if you’re not gay,” he took my hands and I yanked them away just as quickly, “then you’re most definitely bi.”
I shook my head and pushed the illicit thoughts out of my head, “I am no way affiliated with homosexuality, Kyle! Those kisses were just… ‘Spur of the moment’ type things!”
He knew I was lying, and there was no way he was going to let it slide, “Well, then how about we actually prove it?”
“What do you have in mind?”
“You’re going to have sex with me."
My face froze and I just stared at him. How could he say something like that so nonchalant?! And in public too! Not to mention Kyle is dating Liam, “Do you realize how many things are wrong with that statement?!”
“Yes and no. I know it may sound like I’m two-timing Liam, but this is for the future of your life, Gabriel. I want to be the one to help you,” I frowned. I couldn’t believe I was even listening to this bullshit! What’s wrong with this guy, “and when we’re done, we won’t even have to mention it.”
