Chapter 6

Rebecca's POV

The weddings were everything I ever dreamed of, I remember when I was younger and mom questioned all of us about our dream wedding. I didn't expect her to remember and that was like ten years ago. I started to cry went I saw the decor and the press and our family saw that as tears of joy, if only they knew.

Everyone took the bait, everyone thought we were happy and in love even though some reporters still questioned my sudden appearance in the life of New York's Playboy and how I manage to trap him marriage. But as long as they buy our love story I was good. 

I was currently doing my job as Mrs.Knight by sitting and looking pretty beside my husband. People came up to our table to wish us a long and happy marriage, if only they knew I was trying to find a loophole in the contract so I could get out of this marriage. 

Marcus got up saying he has to take a very important call, it was our wedding day, the least he could do is put off work for a little while so it could be more convincing. But it's not like I care, if he wanted to blow our cover, it's not like I was enjoying his company. 

Mom came up and the waterworks began 

"Oh I can't believe I lived to see this day, you are so beautiful, the most beautiful bride I've ever seen " 

" Thank you, mom, but you can't give so much praise without looking at yourself, You could easily outshine any bride " she smiled at me tears still streaming down her face

"I hope you find it in your heart to forgive your father and i "

"Mother I never blamed you for any of this"

"Oh honey," she said before pulling me into a hug

"I'm sorry if I'm interrupting something," Marcus said from behind

"It's completely obvious that you are " her mother gave a pointed look

"I'm just here to discuss our honeymoon plans "

"Oh yes, your family said they wanted to be in charge of that aspect of the wedding as I had done everything else already" mom giggled "where are you taking her? You know what don't answer maybe it's a surprise "

"It is, that's why I want to take her away now, the plane will be ready in twenty minutes "

"What!! But the party isn't over "

"The party is over when the bride and groom leave and that's now "

"But what about clothes "

"Don't worry I already have someone on it "I didn't like the idea of someone unknown going through my stuff, touching and seeing my...

"Dearling there's no need to hesitate, go now and have fun " her mother urged her on. Well thanks so much mom.

The guests bid us farewell and then we were on our way.

After eight hours and twenty-eight minutes, they arrive in Cannes. It's a city located on the French Riviera and it was absolutely stunning. We arrived at Hotel Martinez where we will be staying and I had to say Marcus outdid himself, even if it was only to keep up appearance.

He got us checked in and everything, I was excited to see the room but also dread going into the room, would he want to do what couples do on their wedding nights because if he did, he's delusional if he thinks he's getting any.

He opened the door and the place was absolutely beautiful, but there was only one problem

"There's only one bed " I started

"I know"

"And"

"I know"

"That's all you have to say, this is a problem, why would you deliberately get a room with one bed "

"Because we are a well know newlywed couple and we acting as if we are in love and booking a room with two beds don't actually portray that and anyway we are both mature adults, I think we can sleep in a bed together without getting involved," he said as he made his way to the shower.

Yeah, he was right we're both mature adults, I can do this
