Chapter 2

Marcus POV

I sat up, I looked around, this wasn't my bedroom. Did I even make it home last night? I remember going to the club, I got some drinks and went back to that blonde's place. Yes, that's where I was.

I slowly got out of the bed, not wanting to wake her up. He quickly got dressed and started looking through her things. I knew it was wrong but I learned from a one night stand three years ago, she took pictures of him and her and put it up on social media. Reports wanted to know something interesting in my life so they can get a scoop. When that picture got out all hell broke loose and he wasn't going to take that risk again.

Turning on her phone I saw that she had no password, stupid girl. No pictures were on her phone which was great, she was twenty, nearly legal to from but legal.

I gathered all my things and snuck out of the house. I went to my car, it was three minutes after six, I had time to go home to freshen up and then ill head back to work

Soon I was on my way to my office, I had a very busy.

"Sir, you have a meeting at seven with Ms. Grey, followed by a meeting at nine with Ashton's cooperation  and Mr. Jackson called to finalize the opening of the new hotel in London, when why you like to see him, sir?"

"Do I have any meetings at two "

"No sir"

"Fit him in then "

"Okay sir, you also have an online meeting with Mr. Parks at eleven. The file you ask for yesterday is on your desk for you to review, along with the contract from Mr. Parks"

"Thanks, Ms. Carlong, is that all?"

"Yes sir "

"Okay, I want no disturbance until my meetings "

"Okay"

And for the rest of the day, I busied myself with work.

After two meetings and many paperwork later, someone barged into my office.

"Ms. Carlong, I thought I told you no disturbance for today "

" So what about a visit from your best friend"

I looked up and saw James looking at me

"Has God come, because you never visit me again, your always with Sophia or Nathaniel"

"Jealous much"

"Of what, I didn't miss your scrawny ass "

"Right" he mocked

"Why are you really here "

"Otherwise from coming to visit my best friend and catching up, Sophia wanted to know If you're coming to the family dinner Sunday ?"

"Why would she ask that "

"Because you haven't attended any in three months "

"I've been busy"

"You're always busy "

I wanted to say because I own a business but I instead I said

" I'll try to be there " and I would because I needed to tell my family about the addition to the family

"That's great, now let's catch up " and we talking and taking

Forty-five minutes later, Ms. Carlong came into my office

"Sir your meeting with Mr. Parks in five meetings, everything is set up.

" Thanks, Ms. Carlong, James I have to kick you out now "

"Okay I get it, business before friends," he said foreign hurt.

In the meeting with Mr.Parks, we discussed the final details for the wedding, he told me that they will be arriving in New York on Monday, which gives me less time to tell my parents.

I was currently on my way to their place, as James said it's been three months since I've been here. I've been busy and no one in the family understands that except Dad and uncle Dave.

I arrived minutes later, I could see that everyone was present because of all the cars in the driveway.

I made my way to the doorway, I knew I was late. I rang the doorbell and mom was the one who answered it, her face instantly broke into a simile upon seeing me.

"Oh my baby," she said pulling me into a hug. "I've missed you so much "

" I've missed you too "

"Mom stop being mean, you can't keep him to yourself " a voice came from inside and I instantly knew who it was.

"Sophia "

"Brother," she said while on her way to give me a hug. She looked different her hair was cut short and she was in a long baggy dress with milk stains on it and had on a pair of flat shoes. What have they done to my sister?

"Sophia, you look different," I said

"Yeah, I blame James and Nathaniel " she pouted " I even had to cut my hair, I've learned that hair and baby are not a good mixture" that caused me to laugh.

"Well you were the one who wanted kids "

"And I'm glad she did because you don't seem like you are gonna give me grandkids," mom said

"Dad, dad, dad, dad, dad, dad" came a baby's voice, I saw Noelle stumbled along, Ashley chasing her.

"You ungrateful child, say mommy honey "

"Dad, dad" Noelle replied.

Everyone laughed at the sight.

Dinner was amazing, we chatted and caught up on everything happening in her life. I found out the Athena was getting bullied by the guy she likes girlfriend. Athena was embarrassed by Sophia sharing it but she knows that there weren't any secrets in this family, secrets tears people and families apart and that was the last thing the knight family wanted.

Even though dinner was great I knew I was going to ruin it.

I cleared my throat, " I have an announcement to make " everyone looked at me giving me their undivided attention.

The silence stretched on for a moment before I broke it

"I'm getting married next week "

Thud

I looked to see my mother laying on the floor, she just went to see if dessert was ready.

Sophia glared at me, dad was beside mom looking down at his wife concerned, and everyone else was surprised.

Mom woke up minutes after.

"Alex, I had the strangest dream that Marcus said he was getting married next week " she laugh, she turned to see everyone looking at her concerned

"Alex, it's not true, is it?"

"Hope you know I wouldn't lie to you, so yes, it's true "

And mom fainted again

Hope can be very dramatic.

I hope you enjoy this chapter and are staying safe, it's shocking how the numbers have risen but we can't be too shocked because if people aren't listening to that will be the result. So keep safe, and hope that we all get out of this alive.
