Chapter 16

DATE NIGHT PART 1 

Rebecca P.O.V

"Mrs. Knight " a voice rang over the intercom.

"Yes Madison"

"Your husband is here to see you "

"Okay, send him in "

Seconds later Marcus walked in looking beautiful as ever. From I've known him, he's always been a navy blue suit.

"Hi, what brings you here," I asked awkwardly. I cringed, from the conversation we had this morning, it's been a little awkward between us, mostly on my end.

"I can to check up on the company" of course he was here to do that, what the hell was I thinking, that he came here to give a grand gesture. I mentally facepalm myself

"And I also came to ask you on a date " and when the last word left his mouth I totally taken back. I stared at him with wide eyes . 

'snap out of it ' i scold myself ' he's just asking you out on a date , no biggy'

"Only if you want to , that is. I just want to try my best to make this work " 

"Yes"

"Excuse me "

"Yes ,  I'll go on a date with you and I appreciate the effort your  putting in " I smiled , at least he's trying and not letting the awkwardness get between us . 

"Yeah" he scratched the  back his neck and started to fidget

"Are you nervous  " his eyes widen slightly then his expression went back to normal

"It's my first time planning a date" 

"What about when you were with Octavia ?" I asked, I was very curious . Marcus doesn't talk about her , what am I thinking, no one talks about their ex , I certainly don't . If he talked about his ex a lot that would cause a lot of concern . 

"She always took care of those things , or i would make my former assistant , which is now your assistant , do the planning and send the gifts" After hearing him say that i wonder if i should be concerned, I'm not even sure if he's gonna personally plan this date or his assistant will but do I honestly care, hell no.

"Okay" i sad 

"Okay " he paused ,  then continued " I'll see you at eight then " 

"Yeah, can't wait" i cringed as a said that , i didn't mean to say it in sarcasm , i just hope he didn't notice . I didn't want to hurt his ego because he's a man and sometimes they take things a little too   seriously.  I wasn't really sure if he noticed and if he did , he did a pretty good job of hiding it. 

After  he left , I started to contemplate what i was going to wear . I didn't want to wear amnything from my closet because mostly all my dinner and party wearc was red and black , does that say   a lot about my personality ? Maybe it did . 

"Sophia ..."

I looked at myself in the mirror and i had ro say sophia out did herself , the dress she picked for me is absolutely beautiful . 

"You look beautiful" she said 

"Just because of you " I went in for a hugged, it felt nice to know that I had someone i could count on , someone that would be there for me if i end up in any type of problem . It's nice to have a girlfriend that isn't my sisters.

"Rebecca are you ready " Marcus shouted from downstairs

"You can't rush perfection" Sophia shouted back 

I giggled and made my way downstairs , as I descended I started to  become nervous. No, no , no,  this isn't normal . You've always been confident , don't you dare make this man destroy that.
