Chapter 28

What Octavia said played over and over in my head. I couldn't wrap my head around it, what she said did spark an interest and I was curious. I wanted to go and see what was in the room but also I trusted Marcus despite his past. I knew that since we I've been together there has been no one else.

My phone vibrated in my purse, I took it out hoping  it was Marcus but it wasn't, it was Octavia. I forgot she had my number.

Octavia: I thought you needed a little push

I was confused by the text until I saw that when sent two vedios afterwards, both of Marcus and herself. I watched the first vedio
and in it Marcus and Octavia kissed.

I didn't I want to believe it but the evidence was right in front of me. The second video showed the same thing but sometime after. Both happened after our wedding, right after our fake honeymoon. What I saw made me wonder if you went further with her. If he has been having an affair. And if he was in that room with yet another girl.

I had to know, I'm tired of being a fool. All this time he's been lying to me, I bet the only reason he wanted to have a "real relationship" was to make sure that I wasn't a problem anymore. He would keep me satisfied so I wouldn't notice that he broke the contract. So I left the party and made my way to room 401.

The elevator ride was painfully slow. It gave me a lot of time to think about what I was going to do when I got there. I played out every possible senario in my head and how I would handle it.

The elevator doors opened, I walked to the door that said 401. I took a deep breath to try and calm myself, even though I had all the time coming up to prepare myself I still didn't feel prepared.

I twist the doorknob to find it open, that was evidence that someone has been in here recently. My heart beats accelerated as I open the door and stepped into the room. Everything I looked normal, on the table in the living room I saw papers and laptops. He was here and he was here with his assistant. Was he cheating with her too?

It could be a possibility, they worked together. No one would notice or become sucpious.

I notice that there were two glasses of champagne on the table.

I walked towards the back bedroom, this was it.

I opened the door to the bedroom, let it for the worst but to my surprise no one was there. The bed look as if no one has used it. I didn't hear the shower on so I guess no one was there.

I was relieved that he wasn't there but it could be because I miss them.

I went back to the party, I was so distracted by my thoughts that I didn't know if that Marcus came up beside me.

I looked at him and he looked at me and smiled like nothing happened. He be high on the fact that he wasn't caught, but he didn't know what was coming. I smiled back at him but the smile didn't reach my eyes.

Marcus's P.O.V

I hour ago

I got a text from my assistant saying that there was an issue that needed my urgent attention. I didn't want to leave Rebecca alone but it was an emergency and she was okay with me being away for a bit.

I told her to meet me in my room that I had at the hotel, it was the best place so I thought the problem without any interference.

When I got to the room however I was confused when I didn't see my assistant there instead Madison was there, Rebecca's assistant

"Where is Ms. Armstrong"

"She went to get something, she asked me to fill in for her until she came back" I didn't see anything of it because the girls often covered for each other.

"Okay what's the problem" she explained what happened and we started working.

Thirty minutes passed and we were finish, Ms. Armstrong still wasn't present but at the moment I just wanted to get back to Rebecca I thought nothing of it.

Madison went to the mini bar area for some champagne. She said she wanted to drink to my success in closing the deal. I got a call so I went into the bedroom to receive it. It was Ms. Armstrong asking me where I was and why I wasn't giving the speech.

I was confused because she was the one who called me here and didn't show up. She informed me that she didn't send any text to me infact she couldn't find her phone.

I walked out of the room suspicious of Madison, why was she lying?

She handed me the drink and before I could take a sip I got another call this one was from our security team. I went into the bedroom the receive the class yet again. And I was informed that Madison had put something in my drink and i was relieved that I didn't drink it. They were security already on the way.

I walked out to find the room empty. Where the hell did she go?

We spent the next twenty minutes trying to find her, she must have known about the security team that was on their way which meant she had someone on the inside.

Seeing how much has passed, I went back to the party to find Rebecca. She wasn't hard to find. I made my way towards her and     wrapped my arms around her. When she noticed that I was there she looked up at me, I smiled at her. I didn't want her to know what happened, she bin through a lot already. She smiled back but it didn't reached her eyes, something was wrong.
