Marcus
I sat behind his desk lost in thought, today was a very stressful day, all I wanted to do was find James and have a guys night at the bar. But I knew that wasn't possible these days. James has a family to take care of, they have just welcomed a new addition to their family four months ago and James never wants to leave Sophia or his son's side. They have been together for four years now, they got married two years ago, they were so much in love
Love, that word always left me with a bitter feeling, I didn't see the point of this emotion that everyone wanted to expense. Love hurts and I was once hurt by someone I thought loved me and I loved her. But that's the past and I was determined to keep that past buried.
At first, I felt betrayed by James and Sophia's relationship. They went behind his back after James promised me that he would never go after my baby sister. James is my best friend and that's like an unspoken rule that no friend should cross but James did and he hurt her. But no intentionally, James loved her deeply and I knew I couldn't come between two people that love each other and they're happy now.
I helped James win her back and I never regretted that decision, Sophia was happy and that made him happy.
Love was for people like that, I thought, not for him and it will never be for me. I was content with that.
But that wasn't the only thing on my mind. In a week, I will be meeting my future wife for the first time. It seems weird I know but I wouldn't do it if this arranged marriage wasn't beneficial to me. Even though this marriage isn't one of love, which I'm thankful for, I didn't have to do much to get a yes from the bride.
Her father was satisfied with the arrangement, he's the one who suggested it himself, I wouldn't say I'm power-hungry, I just saw a perfect opportunity to expand the business and I took it
Rebecca was her name, I have only seen her in pictures and she was a very beautiful woman but she was a little too prim and proper for my taste. She always seems perfect and any person would think she is.
I haven't even told my family about one arrangement. I wonder how they would react. Even though my parent's marriage was arranged they fell in love and are living a happy life.
I didn't see myself falling in love, because, it was simply not my cup of tea, tried it and the bitter taste still remained in my mouth.
I glanced at my watch, it was a little to 10 and I decided to take an early night. This week has been hectic as I'm trying to close this business deal with Sterling company.
Walking out of the building no one currently occupied, I was always the last to leave but I had to I'm the boss If I didn't put in time and effort, who would?
I got into my car, I didn't feel like going home tonight. Why would anyone want to go home to an empty apartment?
I decided to go to the club to blow off some steam. These past few months have been hectic, and all I wanted to be a beer or some shots of vodka. It's been a while since I've gotten drunk and tonight I wanted to get lit.
I stopped at the first club I saw, I wasn't being picky tonight, I didn't want to go to a club that everyone knew me but it was hard to hide when you were a well-known businessman and had a family member that is a celebrity.
Cloud nine was the name.
Upon entering I scanned the area, it had a nice simple setting. It wasn't that flashy and I loved it. A few people were already on the dance floor, a few couples were making out against the wall.
I made my way to the bar. I ordered and I received my drink; while sipping it I observed my surrounding
Everyone looked as if they were enjoying themselves, this was what I liked about the club, everyone seems so happy and relaxed, not worrying about the outside world, their crappy job or whatever problems they might be having
As I scanned the crowd a streak of red flashed before me. I focused on the figure, it was a woman dressed In red, the light made her brown skin glow, her honey-brown hair stopped just above her waist. She was dancing so provocatively. She looked captivating, and I was instantly drawn to her. Before I know it, I was walking towards her direction.
Halfway there, a blonde ran over to the lady in red and whispered in her ear, the lady in red looked around with wide eyes before she was dragged away by the blonde. They disappeared into the sea of people and I found myself following them but my attempt failed because so many people were on the dance floor that I lost sight of them in seconds.
I cursed, she would have been a great lay. I made my way back to the bar and got a couple more shots of vodka.
While at the bar a blonde walked up to me and whispered
"Do you wanna have a good time " he finger trail down my neck, she was sexy but not as sexy as the lady in red. But who was he to complain?
"Sure," he said and allowed the blonde to dragged him towards the exit of the club
