Chapter 17

DATE NIGHT PART 2 

"Wow" was the first words that left his mouth that left his mouth and it made my heart swore. 

"i mean ..." he cleared his throat "You look beautiful " 

"Of course she does , I'm the one who styled her " sophia said with a hair flip 

"It is kind of my job" 

"Thank you sophie " Marcus said 

"Your welcome " she said then started to walk off  " I have a seven month old baby at home and i don't think he will be too pleased if he wakes up and I'm not there, bye '" she was gone before anyone could reply. 

"So " i turned back to Marcus 

"So" 

"Let's go before we miss our dinner reservation " 

"Yeah , okay " and with that we were off , the car ride was hella awkward .We both tried to make small talk but they died quickly. I was kind of relieved when we reached the restaurant . I immediately excited the car ,  not knowing that Marcus was coming around to open the door for me , that was pretty awkward . In my defense, I was used to doing these things for myself, I'm a strong independent woman and i don't need a man to baby but i let him hold the door for me .  

We were now seated and ordered our food  then started to talk . Even though we were a date , the only small talk we  could make was about our business. It became embarrassing for both of us , so we agreed that we should stop talking but that only made things worse . Because we went talking we were either staring at each other or staring at the other customers. 

I was so relieved when the waiter came but that was soon short lived. After placing our meals on the table , the waiter offered to pop the champagne bottle for us . Marcus wanted to decline but I gave him the go ahead , and I regret that decision minutes later. While opening the champagne bottle , he tilted it sightly in my direction and when it popped, it rained all over me. 

"I'm so sorry" he said putting down the champagne to help me, but he wasn't much help because his hand lingered too long at my boobs. 

"Hands off , we came all see how much help your gives " Marcus said angrily, he stared to walk towards the waiter when i went between them and requested to be brought home. 

On the way home he was constantly apologizing for ruining the date which he didn't. 

"I'm so sorry " he apologized again as we were walking inside the penthouse. 

"For the last time it wasn't your fault" 

"Like how we haven't eaten , do you fancy pizza ?" 

"Yeah , I'm gonna take a bathe " 

"Okay" he said already calling the pizza place 

We  both freshened up before the pizza delivery man arrived . We went into the living room and ate pizza and watched netflix . We were now cuddling and watching  netflix.

"This was fun"

"Which part , the awkward car rides or when the waiter sprayed champagne on you " 

"This silly" I said as i looked up at him and was lost in his beautiful grey reyes, we stared at each other for sometime before he started to lean in . Was this really gonna happen, my heart started to beat fast, my palm started to sweat. 'Pull yourself together rebecca , it's just a kiss . Stop acting like you've never kissed a guy before.  It's gonna be like any other kiss'

But that little voice in my head was wrong , it wasn't like any other kisses, this kiss actually made me feel something and it scared me . His lips were so soft , just like i imagined them to be. 

"You taste like pizza " i said when we pulled apart , he just clucked 

The next morning ran smoothly , just like normal, only this time i got a good morning kiss. We both part ways when we left for work . I was in such a good mood and I thought nothing could break it but something did. Before my lunch break i received a letter . No name ; inside the letter was a picture of Marcus and I but  my face was cut out and behind the picture , it read.
