Trigger warning. This is dark.
You don't notice her.
No one does.
Except me.
I see the way her smile never reaches her eyes.
I see the way her smile fades as soon as her friends and family aren't looking.
While you're sleeping soundly at night in your room, I hear her crying.
I hear her pleading for someone to make the pain stop.
But it never really stops.
She walks around pretending to be fine for everyone else, but I know she isn't.
I know she's getting tired of fighting by herself.
How do I know?
I'm the reason why she feels this way.
I hold her at night and tell her she's nothing and that no one cares about her.
I constantly shadow her.
I find her glancing over her shoulder, in constant fear of when I'll next strike.
I ambush her when she's in the middle of a conversation with her friends.
When her friends ask her what's wrong, I convince her that they're just being polite.
Why would anyone ever truly care about her?
I drag my blades across her mind and encourage her to drag hers across her wrists.
She cries as the blood drips onto the floor.
Useless.
Pathetic.
She tries to hide her wounds with long sleeves but I know the truth.
I know what's there.
I grin as she glances behind at me.
"Today's the day!" I tell her.
"No, please! Stop. Just leave me alone," she begs.
"Time's ticking!" I warn her.
She walks around smiling during the day but when night hits she knows what's going to happen.
I grab her hand and force her to hold the blade.
"No one will miss you," I reassure her.
Her hand shakes. "My friends will. Especially—"
"Her?" I laugh. "They'll be grateful they don't have to worry about you. Look at you. Look at your wrists. There's nothing good about you. Just leave already."
Tears glisten in her eyes. "No," she whispers.
"Yes. Didn't she tell you that she would there for you? And guess what? No one is ever here with you. You're trapped in your mind. I'm the only one that will be here with you."
.....
I stepped back from her still form.
Another victim taken.
Watch your back.
I might come for you next.
You might not notice me, but I'll be there.
Maybe I'll take your best friend.
I can ruin your life or I can end it.
Until next time...
AN: I wanted to write from a different perspective. Sometimes it's not always easy to see who is struggling.
