I had a dream of this last night and my heart broke. I just had to write it lol

"Do you trust me?"

"I do."

1970

Everything was going well. Until it wasn't. Getting the tesseract was all that mattered to Tony. Get it, and get out. Maybe they might have a chance to get everyone back, to get back Peter. The one who made him realize he wanted kids. His son. Steve and Tony however never made it past the elevator.

"Good luck on your mission Doctor." Steve told Tony as the doors slowly began to close. But it was no use.

The women inside saw guards walking by. "Rain!" She yelled and they turned around. Steve and Tony both went wide-eyed as the soldiers quickly grabbed Tony rough and pinned him against the wall. The others opened the elevator door and tased Steve before he could escape.

"S-Steve." Tony yelled before the men also tased him.

"Come on Tony wake up." Steve said and Tony jumped awake scared. He saw Steve and slowly began to calm before looking around.

"Where are we?" Tony asked staring at the metal.

Steve sighed and sat down on the cold cement bed. "The bases jail." Tony gasped and looked around. He turned to Steve shaking.

"How are we going to get out?!" Tony yelled. Steve gave him a pitiful look and Tony growled. He looked at the bars and without thinking began to hit it. He hit it and kicked, ignoring the blood as it started to stream down his knuckles.

"Tony stop!" Steve yelled trying to grab Tony who began to yell and hit hoping it would break. Steve went dead silent for a second and his body froze as he watched Tony suddenly begin to cry. He never in his whole entire life watched the man cry. In fact he never thought he had that emotion in him. Yet here Tony was, crying as he kept trying to get out.

Snapping out of it, Steve finally grabbed Tony by wrapping his arms around him and Tony couldn't escape the hold. Tony kicked about trying to get out as he kept crying.

"No!" Tony kept yelling, his knuckles were badly cut and bloody. "Let me go! Let me go!!"

Steve just held him there and slowly he began to calm down. "Tony-"

"I hate you Steve." Tony cried. Steve stared at him confused and he gently let him go. "I hate you! I trusted you! I told you I had my second chance. Now I lost her. My baby girl Morgan, just like I lost Peter. My children! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!"

Steve just watched as Tony kept yelling it was his fault. How he had children. He sighed and walked towards the cement bed to sit down once again while Tony was on the other side of the cell. "Tony. I'm sorry." Tony looked at him with red eyes as he gently wrapped his hands with a piece of his jacket. "I really am. You started a life with a daughter... and a wife... I guess I couldn't accept that."

"Why not." Tony muttered turning to look at him. He folded his arms, trying to put up his courageous, cocky, shield.

Steve shook his head and looked at his hands. "It was hard. Seeing you with a wife and all, having it all. I thought I lost everything when I woke up. But I met this team... I met you. I guess being the worlds leading authority on waiting too long, is true. So I thought getting everybody back will help you. Getting Peter back. I was wrong. I'm sorry Tony."

"I don't get it." Tony replied sitting on the floor. "What are you trying to say?"

"I'm trying to say." Steve sighed as he awkwardly touched the back of his neck. "I'm trying to say I love you Tony. And I wanted you to forgive me. But I made things worse..."

Tony was dead silent. Steve looked at him but he stared at his hands as he gently tapped the blood. Steve shook his head and put his head in his hands. The silence was killing him.

"Tony can you say something?" Steve asked not looking up.

It was still silent and he put his head up to not see him. He felt a head lean against his shoulder and he looked to see Tony who had his eyes closed and body tilted. Steve closed his eyes and let him lean against his body.

After a few minutes Tony slowly opened his eyes. "Steve I love you too..." Steve smiled softly. "But I married Pepper..." Steve's smile dropped. "I love you but I can't do that to Morgan..."

"I'm not asking you to." Steve replied. "I just wanted to let you know... the reason as to why I did... what I did."

Tony nodded his head and closed his eyes. Steve allowed Tony to slowly but surely fall asleep in his arms. They were stuck. In the jail cell. In 1970.

That's the end of my dream :3
