A/N: Ngl, I forgot this model's name but that's Georges' new faceclaim.

It had been mere minutes after George's confession and Y/N acceptance. There was an oddly awkward happiness in the air as they sat quietly, enjoying their tea. Like silly, lovestruck schoolchildren, Georges and Y/N giggled and chuckled to themselves. Georges hid his joyful grin behind the teacup he had and Y/N hid her giddy smile with occasional sips of tea.

Of course, the tea didn't last.

Hesitantly, Y/N was the first to put her teacup down and face her beau. The thought of him being her lover brought back the silly smile that she quickly bit back before speaking up. "George?" Her eyes sparkled as she focused on her dear Frenchman.

The aforementioned Frenchman finally set the long since emptied teacup on the coffee table and faced his dear Y/N. "Yes, ma chérie?" Georges hardly tried to conceal the blood rushing to his face as he noticed her tender gaze.

'Ma chérie'

Y/N's heart fluttered. It took her a bit to focus on what she had to say since Georges caught her off guard with the nickname he gave her. "So..." She wondered if the way she'd phrase her question made sense. "We're a couple now?"

Georges blinked a couple of times, taking in her question. He went through the events that led up to that moment before eventually giving her a nod. "I'd suppose that's what two people that are in love would be called, so yes."

Y/N smiled and scooted closer. "I'll be honest. It's a bit weird hearing my best friend say he's in love with me but it's the best kind of weird." Out of the corner of her eye, Y/N saw his hand inching closer with hers. She bit her cheek and followed suit, slowly dragging her hand closer to his.

At first, after Y/N had accepted Georges' advances, they sat separately on her Astoria sofa. However, as the two spent more time together, enjoying their tea and occasionally sneaking looks at the other, they closed the space between them. Now, there was only a small gap between where their hands rested.

George took her hand in his and placed a gentle kiss on it. "My dear, I'll be honest. I feared that I'd lose you to some other man." He felt silly telling her about something so trivial but he needed to get it off his chest. "I don't know what came over me when I left you. It was very unbecoming...but enough of all that." He pulled her closer, glee just radiating off of him. "We have each other."

Y/N thought it was kind of funny how the same things he'd do when they were friends affected her differently once they were a couple. Her face grew warmer as she felt Georges pull her in. It was the same goofiness that they'd partake in but it just felt better. "I'll be honest too. I understand why you left. It still hurt but I understood. I confessed to you almost out of the blue. I wouldn't blame you if you needed some time to think about it. Even if you had said no, I'd be more than happy to be your friend."

"Really? I worried mainly in part to what Marcel would tell me. One time while you were at an audition, Marcel told me about all the potential suitors that would leave you presents after shows. He told me that some of the actors had their eyes on you." Georges felt it was necessary to let her know of what was going on. "If it came to me confessing my love first, and if you rejected me, that would be okay so long as we could continue our friendship. I just didn't want to get left in the dust."

A small smile formed on Y/N's lips. "You actually listen to Marcel?" She wanted to not laugh because she didn't want to invalidate his concerns but it was funny. "Georges, darling, I wouldn't put too much stock into what Marcel says." She chuckled and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "If he knew you liked me, then he'd try to get a rise out of you. That's just how he is." Y/N kissed his cheek a few more times. "You're so silly."

A bright red blush dusted Georges' face. "That little punk-" Truth be told, he was very easy to embarrass but he got over it quickly. He realized that if everything Marcel said was all a ruse to get Georges' attention then he'd no reason to worry about some other man wooing his dearest Y/N. "Actually, that's a relief."

"A relief? Need I remind you who I'm dating? We already know Marcel was lying about me having countless suitors but I've seen how other girls look at you?" Y/N grinned smugly, knowing she'd made a valid point.

"Just because others have eyes for me doesn't mean the feeling is mutual. Even if I had hundreds of thousands ladies after me, I only have eyes for me." Georges kissed her cheek. "But you already know that, darling."

Y/N grinned, shrugging playfully. "I suppose I do."
