Chapter 7

                              Kasalukuyan kaming nagsusukat ng dress nila ate Syd at Aika for our party tomorrow night. Dumating na din sila Mom and Dad kanina. "Alam niyo na 'yung rumors?" Sabi ni Aika while brushing her hair.

"Hindi. Ikaw ang updated diyan, eh." Ate Syd teased.

"Hindi, seryoso. Narinig ko sila Lolo Jonny and tito Dave. I think they are already in good terms with the Zobels! I'm not sure pero ayun ang narinig ko." Napatingin naman ako kay Aika dahil sa sinabi niya.

"Totoo?" I asked.

"Uy, nagningning mata ah! Pero hindi ako sure, ha. I hope so." Sabi ni Aika sakto namang pagkaka-pasok ni Daddy.

"Rin, may idadgdag kami sa invitees. Okay lang?" Dad asked. Probably one of his business acquaintances.

"Sure, Dad. Sino?" Tanong ko naman.

"The Zobels. I know you're well-aware of the feud that happened between us before, but Mr. Zobel called for a dinner yesterday and we're able to have a talk. May dalawang anak si Mr. Zobel, isang lalaki and isang babae. The boy is from Ateneo as well, Aviation."

"Okay, Dad."

I tried to act normal as possible but I'm really trying to hide my big smile.

rxzxnerinathena: CLAVELL JAIRUS ZOBEL!

clvlljrszobel: oh? I can hear you through the screen.

rxzxnerinathena: you're invited to our party tomorrow!!!!

clvlljrszobel: alam ko na 'yan pero 'di ko pinagkalat.

rxzxnerinathena: ge goodnight.

clvlljrszobel: joke lang nuba. Na-overwhelm lang ako. Punta kayo dito minsan sa bahay.

rxzxnerinathena: sure. Ttyl. Fitting gowns.

clvlljrszobel: oks. See u tomorrow, beautiful. I mean it.

Napairap naman ako sa sinabi ng bolero kong kaibigan. "Close kayo ni CJ di'ba?" Tanong ni Ate Syd.

"Ewan. Tanong mo sa kanya." Pang-aasar ko kaya sinamaan ako ng tingin ni Ate Syd. "Joke. Sakto lang."

"Then pwede mo akong ilakad? Magkaedad naman kami, eh." Nararamdaman ko na nang-aasar lang si ate Syd.

"Pwede." I leaned my head on my left hand. "Basta pasubsob 'yung lakad." I smiled.

"Meanie!" Ate Syd pouted. "Gift ko, anyway." She handed me a necklace with a pink garnet pendant.

"Thank you!" I said and hugged her.

"Eto saakin. Last minute lang, eh." Aika said and gave me a shoe box from Jimmy Choo.

I scanned my jade green off-shoulder evening gown. Everything is already perfect, except for I don't know what bracelet to wear.

"Ang ganda girl!" Ate Syd exclaimed.

Tinaggal naman nila sa hanger and strappy evening dress nila. "Aww. Mas gusto ko 'yang dress niyo." I pouted.

"Girl, mas maganda kaya sa'yo! Tsaka ang ganda ng upper chest mo, ang puti at ang soft! Damn." Aika said.

"I'm gonna wear ate Syd's gift." Sabi ko. "Bagay 'no? What do you think, Aiks?"

"Wear my gift as well! Nude 'yan, perfect for green." I took a selfie from my mirror soot ang outfit ko bukas.

clvlljrszobel: ano nanaman ba? Sawang-sawa na ako sa relasyon na 'to babe, ako nalang ang kumakapit! Please lang.

rxzxnerinathena: bahala ka.

clvlljrszobel: joke lang hehe. Ano ba soot mo bukas?

rxzxnerinathena: that's why I texted. Anong bagay na color ng bracelet sa green?

clvlljrszobel: 'wag ka magsoot ng bracelet. Basta wag.

rxzxnerinathena: weird, but okay. I'll see you tomorrow.

clvlljrszobel: ano color gown mo? Sana green hehehe.

rxzxnerinathena: oo, green kaya wag ka magulo.

clvlljrszobel: alright. Sleepwell. :)))

Hindi na ako nag-reply at hinayaan nalang ang message niya.

Nanood lang kami ng movies nila ate Syd at Aika kasama ang triplets naming nakababatang pinsan at hinayaan nang makatulog.

"Girls, Triplets, breakfast. Gusto ng Lolo niyo na magkakasabay tayo." Mom said as we wake up.

"In a minute, Tita. Ligo lang kami. Triplets, okay lang bang sa guest room na kayo maligo? Para mabilis na tayo." Aika said and the triplets nodded.

I already finished my bath so I just blew dry my hair. I had plenty of time so I decided to give it a little curl
"Blooming ah? May kalandian?" Ate Syd teased as she went out of the bathroom with her robe.

"Wala nga, eh. May irereto ka ba?" Sakay ko sa trip niya.

"Meron. Captain ng Basketball Team." I rolled my eyes on what she said. Asarin ba naman ako kay CJ!

Ate Syd did her routines and straightened her curly ombre black and blue hair. "Tara na kaya? Mamaya tayo nalang hinihintay." Aika said as she dry her hair.

Sabay-sabay na kaming bumaba sa dining, only to see that everyone's already complete exept for Eros.

"Erin, please call your brother first." Dad said as we walked down the staircase so I had no choice but to go up again.

Pagbukas ko ng kwarto niya ay naka-soot lang siya ng pantalon and he was topless. He's holding a baby pink polo in his left hand and baby blue polo on his right.

"Hoy, Torty. Happy Birthday, Torty." I called him.

"Anong Torty?" Takang tanong niya.

"Tortoise. Ang bagal mong pagong ka. Just wear the goddamn polo and go down."

"Pink." He said as he pulled me out. Binubutones niya ang polo niya habang bumababa kami.

"Let's eat now." Lolo said as we seated.

"Papa, I'm glad we're able to make amends with the Zobel Family and invite them in Erin and Eros' birthday." Daddy said.

"Good for Erin and Eros then." Lolo said kaya napa-tingin ako sa kanya. Napansin naman iyon ni Lolo kaya binawi niya rin ang sinabi niya. "They will have new friends. Allowed niyo pa."

The good thing about Lolo is that he doesn't have his favorites, and he knows how to play fair. Aside from Tita Maria, it's Lolo I counted on. It's definitely him who always consoled me and cheered me up. It's his childhood dream to be a journalist. But since he's able to have his own Media Corporation late, I want to fulfill his dream in behalf of me.

They have their own favorites- but I've never been a favorite. But who am I para mag-reklamo? I'm contented of having a roof above my head, and lessons to fill my mind. It doesn't matter, as long as they fulfilled their duties.

"You all should rest. We have a party later. The make-up artist will come by 12. Pupunta kami ng mga Tita at Lolo niyo by 12 sa Venue. Pupunta kayo by 5 and the party will start at 7. Pwede nang umuwi ng 10 and the after party will happen sa kabilang Hotel natin. Relatives and invitees nalang ang pupunta, 'yung mga Zobel."

"Alright, Mom." I said as I heard Zobel.

I hope this would be permanent. I don't care if I'm the favorite child or what, but hearing about Razon and Zobel Family in good terms gives me ease. Cross my fingers, here we go.
