I sit at the edge of my daughter hospital bed waiting for her to wake up, I feel like it's been years since I've seen her beautiful green eyes. Derek has gotten back to work and surgery I on the other hand haven't been cleared for surgery
"Hey" derek said coming into the room with a coffee
"Hi, thank you" I took the coffee from his hand
He gave me a kiss and sat on the other side of Sarah's bed "I miss her voice, her beautiful smile. I feel like if she doesn't make it I'm going to forget what she's like and her personality.. I don't want to forget her" I told derek
"You won't Meredith, we won't. She will wake up please think positive please for me" he begged looking at my teary eyed face
I went to hold Sarah's hand when I saw it stretch "Derek" I said surprised
"What?" He asked
"Her h-hand it stretched, oh my god her eyes" I started crying once I saw her beautiful eyes sparkle up at me
Derek looked at her in awe "NURSE" he yelled out, nurses came piling into her room
"Oh my god she's awake" a nurse said
"Page Dr. Karev and Robbins" I told him, he ran out to page them
"She's choking we need to get this tube out now" I told derek, I quickly unhooked from the vent and peeled off the adhesive on her cheeks so I can slowly take the tube out
"Hi I'm here Robbins is in surgery" an out of breath Alex said
"She woke up alex" I said looking at my beautiful daughter looking groggy
"Baby" I heard her say
"What do you mean baby? Sweetie" derek said running his thumb over her forehead
a guilty look fell all over my face "momma baby" she then said
Derek looked at me with wide eyes "wait what?" He said
I shook my head "I was going to have a baby but I lost it that day" I told them both
"And you were going to tell me when?" Derek said crossing his arms
"Sarah just woke up and you want to start a fight? I was going to tell you when Sarah was better and awake" I told him
I saw his eyes soften he mouthed sorry to me, "we will talk later" I told him. I heard Derek's pager go off
"Shit I have to go but starting tomorrow I'm having Nelson take over my service while Sarah recovers I love you two so much" he kissed my lips and Sarah's head
"I love you daddy" Sarah told him before he left
