Chapter 2

Present time.

     "we got a call from an ambulance not far an orphanage has burned down, a lot of casualties and these are children and teens ranging from infant to 18. This is an all hands down on deck situation, get ready folks it's going to be a long night" Dr. Webber said to the group of interns, residents and attendings

I put on the yellow cover up to make sure my scrubs won't get messy Cristina helps me tie it up, I turn around and I help her as well we both run out to help others with the ambulances

"Sarah five years old minor burns was out of the house unconscious once we got there but her legs and head doesn't look that good" the paramedic said

we run her into the hospital "get her to trauma two grey go with her and make sure your interns follow you" bailey told me

I rush her into trauma two "page shepherd and Sloan now" I tell my interns, I see two men rush in "what do we have grey" mark said

"Five year old girl suffering from 2nd degree burns unconscious may need a head CT to get a better look" I told them getting her vitals

"run her to CT" derek tells me

I roll her out of the room "go help other residents George come with me" I tell them, George and I get her to CT. I prep her in the machine while she is still unconscious I quickly get out of there and press the button to get the CT started "you know she kinda reminds me of someone" George tells me

"Who?" I ask him

"You" he said

I give him a shocked face "how George I've never had a kid before" I said lying through my teeth

"I'm not sure it's just her face reminds me of you like a copy of you" George says

We hear a beep signaling us the scan is done I look at the scan to see a tumor in her Occipital lobe "let's get her a room and page derek" I said

a few hours pass by I'm doing Sarah's chart in her room "ms Annie?" I hear a little girl say, I look up and see Sarah with her dark brown eyes looking at me "hi sweetie I'm Meredith, I'm a Doctor you've been sleeping for quite some time" I told her calmly

"My head hurts" she told me

"I'm gonna call another doctor in here to help you" I tell her, I go out of the room and tell a nurse she's awake then I page derek. I go back into the room to see her looking at a photo

"hey where did you get that" I ask her, she looks at me with a small smile

"Ms Annie told me that this my mommy and daddy, I always keep it with me" she said showing me the photo

I take the photo from her and see it's the photo I've been looking for of me and derek
