Chapter 21

The night has fallen upon us, after the whole Callie and Arizona fiasco they decided to let some of us off for a day. Which means I can spend time with my family "daddy loaf won't go outside" Sarah whined

"Once second sweetie" I said, I put my suit jacket on then went downstairs to see Sarah in a nice dress staring at the tv screen very closely "hey don't look at the screen so close" I told her as I walked by, I then walked into the kitchen letting the dog out who now wanted to go outside.

I turned around to see my beautiful wife staring at me through the door way of the house "staring now are we" Meredith smirked at me, I smiled at her as I walked over then gave her a very romantic deep kiss. She tried to deepen the kiss and of course the dog ruined it all "saved by the bark" I laughed, then walking over to retrieve the dog from the outside

"sarbear you ready" Meredith asked our daughter

"don't call me that" she sassed whilst rolling her eyes

"I saw that don't roll your eyes at your mother" I scolded her

"whatever" she muttered petting loaf

"Sarah Katherine Shepherd you will not use that tone with us, I didn't know turning seven made you actually thirteen which you aren't. You know maybe we shouldn't be going to the restaurant if you are going to act like this" Meredith then scolded her

"Fine" Sarah said then stomped her way upstairs to her room

"What the hell are we going to do with her" I said, I sat down on the couch putting my head in my hands we then heard little footsteps come down the steps "mommy" Sarah said

We both looked at her "yes baby girl" she said with a smile "I'm not really that hungry so can you read me a bed time story" Sarah asked

"of course, let's go" Both Meredith and Sarah went upstairs and I was just sat there wondering what the hell was going on, I took off my suit coat and decided to make Sarah's favorite meal Chicken with noodles and green beans. I get out the ingredients and start preparing the meal when I feel two arms wrap around my waist "hey" I turned around and said

"What are you making" she asked me trying to look over my shoulder

"Sarah's favorite dinner, I have a slight feeling she's still awake" I told her giving her a kiss

"so you are going to award her? For bad behavior?" She asked me

"She's had a hard couple of months she deserves this Meredith, plus you read her a 'bed time story'" I told her continuing dinner, she laughed and went to sit at the island

Once I finished with dinner I brought one up for Sarah, low and behold she was awake playing with her bears "I thought you went to sleep" I asked her, she turned around quickly when she heard my voice

"I got hungry and didn't want to come out" she told me

"Sarah I'm not mad at you and neither is momma okay? Plus I made your favorite" I said holding out a plate filled with food, her eyes lit up like stars

"Yummy can I have it please" she asked, I nodded and gave her it "wait I don't have to eat in kitchen?" She asked

"Nope, if you want me and mommy can come up here and all of us can eat together" I asked her, she nodded vigorously

"Mer, Sarah wants us to eat with her upstairs bring ours up please" I yelled downstairs then going back to Sarah's room seeing her sitting at her little table with her food

Meredith came up with two plates of food "here you go sir" she said in a fun accent, Sarah giggled

"This is good daddy thank you" she told me

"Thank you princess" I told her

"How do you know I didn't make this" Meredith asked her

"because it's not burnt" she then said, I burst out in laughter and Meredith laughed as well

We started a little conversation when Sarah stopped talking and dropped her fork then collapsed on the ground seizing "holy shit"
