"We have everyone" I told Callie, "did you double check?" She asked "yes I d-" I stopped and looked at the crowed room to see an empty chair "a kid is missing" I said when a swat team came through the door "floor is clear let's move them out" a swat guy said, "wait we are missing a child" I told them. "What who" Callie said, I looked around the room to see who exactly we are missing "it's Sarah, Sarah Shepherd she's wearing a hospital gown with black leggings underneath and white socks with purple slippers. She has dirty blonde hair with beautiful green eyes oh my god Meredith and Derek are going to be so upset with us" I blabbered on, "we will look for her but right now let's evacuate you all" he told us

after we all evacuated out of the hospital i saw a crying Meredith running to a ambulance holding on to a gurney with Sarah on it and following close behind a gurney with Derek on it with Owen Cristina following behind it, I then see a crying April being held by Jackson "they shot a kid.. the shooter shot a kid how cruel is it to shoot an innocent child" I said with tears forming in my eyes, Callie held me close "arizona come on" Callie guided me somewhere

Switching POV *1 month later*

I look at my daughter and see the damage this guy has done to her I can't believe she asked him to shoot her, and he actually did it "Meredith, Derek is asking for you" Cristina told me "I'll be there in a minute, do you think he's ready to know about Sarah?" I asked her wiping my tears "I think he deserves to know mer, he's getting discharged tomorrow and what do you think he's gonna do when he gets home to see his daughter isn't in her room waiting for him to come home, we've already lied to him why Sarah can't come in to his room he is ready" Cristina told me

I got up from my chair kissing Sarah's head "I'll stay with her while you tell him" Cristina told me she rubbed my shoulder as I walked away towards Derek's room, "hey" I said walking in, "hey when I get home maybe me you and Sarah can have a movie night" he said, a tear escaped from my eye "hey what's wrong?" He asked me, "derek I'm gonna tell you something and you need to promise me that you won't get upset" I told him getting into the bed with him, he nodded

"while Cristina was operating on you, the shooter came into the O.R. trying to stop her from going any further, I don't know how she got out but Sarah came into the room and told him shoot her she gave this whole speech to him and he just" I had to stop I couldn't go on tears were flowing out of my eyes, derek put his arms around me "shh calm down who let her out of their sight" derek asked angrily, "arizona" I told him "I want to speak to her. Have you spoken to her?" He asked, "I can't even look at her" I told him I saw him press the nurse button several times

we saw a nurse come in "yes, Dr. Shepherd?" She asked "I would like for you to page Dr. Arizona Robbins right now I need to speak to her" he said the nurse nodded, "is Sarah here?" He asked, "yes but she's barely holding on derek, I don't know how we can live on" I said putting my head on his chest, I heard footsteps walk into the room and looked up to see Arizona with her head down "you paged?" She asked, "I want to know why you let my daughter, MY SIX YEAR OLD DAUGHTER OUT OF YOUR SITE NOW SHE IS IN THE ICU BARELY HOLDING ON" derek yelled, "Derek calm down you had surgery a month ago you could burst something" I told him, he looked at me in disgust "I can't calm down Meredith, our daughter is half dead because of her" he said in anger, "I didn't look for 5 seconds and she was already gone, you can blame me I deserve it. It's my fault I understand" she said taking it all in, "where is she?" He then asked, "pediatric ICU" I told him "want to see her" he asked, I nodded I got a wheelchair for him and wheeled him to her room

"Oh my god" derek said putting his hand over his mouth looking at our daughter with tubes coming out of her body "what happened with her while I was out" derek looked up at me, "she has had three surgeries, one brain and two abdomen surgeries. All were successful but she hasn't woken up yet" I told him, "when was her last surgery "two weeks ago" Cristina answered him, "I want the best for her, do everything you can to wake her up. Meredith and I just got her, we can't lose her" derek said rubbing her arm "come on munchkin, daddy is here he will make you better come back to me and mommy" he told her, Cristina left the room to go research what she could do for her

"She's strong, she will come back to us" I leaned on his wheelchair kissed his head
