*Dabi POV*

It took a while to actually find the stuff I was looking for. However, I did eventually find some soba in the back, so I guess I do have something to eat. Not like I was extremely hungry anyway.

Heading back to the other room, I heard a shuffle of fabric against wood and coughing. Fucking bird.

Opening the door, I saw Keigo jump back from me with a feather in his hand. Petals started to pile from his coughs as he perched himself up on his toes, still crouched to the ground. He was using one hand to keep balance on the floor, but that caused me to realize something.

The letters, all of the letters that I had written to him all throughout these years were scattered around the floor. I had forgotten to pick them up before he woke up. How could I be such a fucking idiot?

"You-" He cut himself off with another cough. "What did you do to him?" He was staring at me with a look of pure hatred, but I knew that look. Especially with Keigo. It was the type of hatred that got him no where. The type that you don't have any real reason to back up.

Honestly, I had seen that look with him so much. Yeah, it had never been directed at me, but I knew what it meant. It meant he had a reason to believe he should hate me, but knew deep down that it could be false. That itself, however, is weird. He has plenty of reasons to hate me, so that look should be solid, but it isn't.

"What did I do to who?" I knew what he was talking about, but I needed to think.

"This kid, Touya. He was last seen nine years ago. What did you do to him?" He grabbed onto his feather with both hands. His arms was shaking slightly, and he was staring at me with wide eyes. Did he, still care about me?

"That kid?" I started, glancing over at the letters. "I didn't do anything to that bastard."

"Bullshit! What did you do to him!?" He snapped. His nostrils flared and I saw him very subtly shift his weight. Just as I thought, he pounced at me, feather held up above his head.

I grabbed onto his wrist and turned to the side, slamming him to the wall and pinning his other arm behind him. His wings started to flap madly, trying to get me off of him.

I used my body weight to try and hold him still, but suddenly, a few feathers started to sharpen themselves and fly off towards me. I jumped away from the attack, looking back up at Hawks as he turned around. The feathers changed course, pointing directly at me while he took a second to clear his throat.

"Just tell me what you did." He said, shakily as the feathers took off again. I didn't want to have to burn him, but if I didn't do anything he would corner me. I was easily able to burn the feathers to ash. Hawks grimaced before sending more feathers my way.

Again, I tried to stay away from them for as long as I could before giving in and burning them. Instead of more feathers, he came at me again with his feather knife thing. Even without flying he was fast.

He jumped, and that was my chance. I ran at him and dodged his attack with the knife, swinging my arm at his side. He flinched, landing sideways onto the mattress. He started to try and get up before I pushed his shoulder around so he was sitting with his back to the wall.

One hand got a hold of his wrists, holding them against the wall. My other hand was holding one of his wings to the wall while one knee pinned the other one. His face was slightly pink as he stared to wheeze harshly, allowing gardenia petals to fall onto his lap.

"Calm down damn it." I panted, leaning slightly on my elbow against the wall. He didn't answer, instead continuing to cough petals everywhere. Damn, how far along in this shit was he?

"How long have you had this?" I asked him. His eyes narrowed and his speech was broken with heavy breathing.

"You didn't, answer my question. So why, should I?"

"I did answer your dumbass question. I didn't do anything to your friend, got it?" I groaned, pushing him further to the wall. He nodded, but obviously wasn't convinced. "Now, answer mine."

"A few days? A week, maybe, at the most?" He closed his eyes and started to go limp in my hold, so I tightened it around his wrists.

"Then why does it already seem like you're gonna fall over and die on me?" He shoulders jerked up in a weird shrugging motion.

"I dunno, I might?" He said with a slight smirk. "But I can't, not yet." He opened his eyes to look back up at me. "So, just, please tell me. What happened to Touya?"

I froze, not knowing what to say. I can't tell him the truth, no way in hell. I started to chuckle slightly as Hawks glared at me.

"I'm being serious. I need to find him."

"Really? And why would I tell you?"

"I won't tell anyone about this place, I swear, just, I need to find him." He looked, genuinely upset. He's really been looking for me?

"I'll talk tomorrow. For now, you sleep." I started to let go of him, getting off of him and the mattress entirely.

"How would I know you won't just kill me?"

"That's the thing." I said, looking back up at him. "You won't." I slowly walked towards the back room and started to walk through the doorway. "G'night."
