Y/N'S POV

After being stuck in quarantine for several months now, we are finally free. Free to do whatever. I haven't seen y/bf/n in a long time so we decided to go to the snow cone place by our high school. Over quarantine, I had been left alone with my thoughts. And those thoughts made me realize that I am in love with y/bf/n. 

And I've decided that today when we get snow cones, I'm gonna tell him.

I finish getting ready when I get a text from y/bf/n saying he's outside. I grab my bag and keys and head to the door.

"Y/bf/n is here! Bye mom." I yelled as I put on my shoes.

"Ok, see you later. Be safe." She yelled from the couch.

"I will," I'm so nervous. If he doesn't feel the same way then nothing will ever be the same. I walk down the steps and open the door to the passenger seat.

"Hey y/n!" Y/bf/n says. When I get in the car he pulls me into a hug. "I missed you so much." Those words were so comforting. We pulled out of the hug and y/bf/n started driving towards the snow cone place. He's playing our favorite songs. I can't help but look over watching him drive. Everything about him is great. 

Y/bf/n parks the car and we get out to order. Once we've ordered, we walk over to a bench and sit down. The sun is about to go down, so we're enjoying golden hour while chatting. Y/bf/n just finished a story about how he was in his thoughts so much during quarantine that it kept him up at night. I think this was the time to tell him.

"During quarantine I thought a lot too. I kinda realized that I have feelings for someone." I stay looking down at my snow cone. I feel y/bf/n look at me.

"Who? Tell me!" I'm still looking down trying to gain the confidence I had everytime I thought of this conversation in my head.

"You." I look up to see y/bf/n with a surprised look on his face. He puts his snow cone down, and pulls me into a kiss.

The kiss is kinda long but it feels so right. Eventually we pull away from each other. We're both blushing.

"Y/n, I've liked you for such a long time, but I didn't say anything because I didn't want to ruin our friendship. I'm so glad you feel the same way." He pulls in for another kiss.

"I'm so relieved! I was really nervous to tell you." 

"I'm glad you did." He says with a big smile.

"So does this mean that we're boyfriend and girlfriend now?" I ask him.

"I guess so, if that's ok with you." He says kinda shyly.

"That sound great with me." We kiss again.

We finish our snow cones and keep chatting. When we get back to the car, y/bf/n searches in his phone for something.

"I've been waiting to use this playlist forever." I look down to see that it's a love song playlist. I can't hide my happiness. I have a big smile on my face. 

We sing all the words to every song as he takes me home. 

When he parks in front of my house, instead of saying our goodbyes in the car, he walks me to the door.

"This has been the best night of my life." I say.

"Mine too. I'll see you tomorrow, girlfriend."

"Ok, boyfriend." He gives me a final goodbye kiss and I go inside and close the door. That was a great night!
