CHAPTER 23: Territory

NIGHTMARE'S POV

"I'm working on it." He said with enthusiasm. He has changed since that day he almost died. But my annoyance for him never left me.

"I want the company tomorrow." Walang ganang sagot ko habang nakaupo ako sa harapan niya.

I did what he wanted, he told me he want to see that lady who saved him. After all those years of arguing and non-stop loathing, he finally gave up Hexagon in exchange of seeing Scarlett. What a weird old man.

"I already let Martin to fix the papers. Do you like Scarlett?" He said with amusement. My forehead instantly creased. The fuck? Since when did he became interested on my fucking love life?

"What the fuck are you saying?" I said with full annoyance but he just laughed it off. I'm still not used of him being like this. Mukhang mas okay pa yung nagmumurahan kami, at nagsisigawan kaysa ganito.

"Why not? I think you already knew each other--" I stood up and cut him off. I don't want to hear any of his shits anymore.

"Just call me if everything's ready." I said and left him laughing the fuck up inside.

"Oh brother." Hindi pa ako nakakarecover sa inis sa matandang iyon ay nandito nanaman ang isa pa sa sisira sa araw ko.

"What?" I irratedly asked but continued walking.

"Aphrodite, huh." He said, teasing. I instantly stopped and faced him. He was wearing his usual annoying smirk, like he wanted to slap my fuckingly annoying situation right in front of my face.

"I heard Serpent was already preparing to get the Donovan? Oh brother, where did it go wrong?" He laughed like it's the funniest thing he has heard in a while.

He knew we were preparing, it was known to the whole underground that Sebastian would be the next leader of Donovan. He has all the reason to kill Scarlett, and of course I'll be the fucking assasin to do him the favor.

"Are you done?" Puno ng pagtitimping tanong ko. He pressed his lips to stop himself from laughing.

"I told you to just ditch that useless mafia and join Cepheus, what's so hard about that? Besides, Cepheus and Donovans are already allies."

He left me standing there, unable to comprehend what he just said. Donovan and Cepheus were already allies? That's not impossible considering how powerful Cepheus is, hindi na rin ako magtataka kung susunod na ang Knight at Orion Mafia. The big three mafia of the underground.

Natigil ako sa pag-iisip ng biglang nang marinig kong tumunog ang cellphone ko. It was already past 10pm, and I was about to go home.

Sebastian: Miguel is going to Italy. Guard him.

Mabilis kong tinago ang cellphone ko at pumasok sa kotse. The fuck, do I look like a fucking security guard? Why the fuck should I guard his useless life?

Inis kong hinampas ang manibela ng kotse. I was beyond annoyed, and pissed off. Lahat ata ng nakakasalamuha ko ngayon ay walang matinong ambag sa buhay ko. This maybe the shittiest mission I've ever received, kung uutusin niya akong patayin ang Miguel na yun, I can do that in one fucking hour, but guarding someone's useless life isn't my forte.

I just can't understand everything. Alam kong may mas malalim na dahilan kung bakit kailangan kong ingatan yung Miguel na iyon, it's not just because he's powerful. There's something beyond that. I know something was up behind the scenes but I don't have a single fucking idea. I'm just doing what I've been told without asking more details, because I don't really care.

But this time, I felt like something was off.
