Eric took a sip of his drink, letting out the background noises drown out his quiet sigh as he looked up at Saphire and immediately locked eye contact. "I told you, I'm here to talk business." Eric said and Saphire sighed, leaning down on her arms and lowering her head before nodding, quiet. "You did say that.." Saphire reminded herself with quiet mumbles as Eric watched her get drunk slowly.
"Why did you agree to join our business?" It was Eric's turn to ask while Saphire was the least bit vulnerable. But Saphire wasn't vulnerable, even when she was drunk, if anything, she was more aggressive. While she was drunk, Eric took another sip, what he didn't expect was for a gun to be pointed at him.
"As cute as you are, I know every person has an ulterior motive," Saphire said, her eyes sharp as Eric put down his cup, face blank and calm, "So what is yours?" Saphire asked and Eric stayed mum.
She felt her patience decrease as she pointed the gun closer, her voice getting quieter but with more intimidation, "Answer me."
"I don't know."
"Honestly."
The man did not want to answer. He had promised his brother he would not say anything. He didn't expect to meet this woman to be feisty, nor for her to ever point her gun at him. "Do you think I would really not shoot?" Saphire asked, her hands close to pulling the trigger. Eric cleared his throat, pulling his seat closer as he laced his fingers together and leaned closer. "Prove it that you can actually shoot."
Saphire did not wait another second before pulling the trigger right next to Eric's face, slashing a little bit of his cheek. He expected this. He knew there were bullets, and that May and her were never people to just use empty threats. Blood slowly trickled down his cheeks, his eyes and body unflinching.
"Oh my gosh.. Saphire actually shot him."
"Did he piss her off?
"May he insulted her..."
"Answer me," she repeated. Eric sighed. He might actually really die today. "I'll be honest. Cale is the leader of this operation, I know the reason, but it is not my business to meddle with. I hope you respect my decision of keeping his secret," Eric said. Saphire sat quiet for a few seconds before putting her gun down slowly.
"Then I also hope you understand, I care for May. May is the only person which I will ever care for and trust ever again. No one will hurt you, and I will make sure of that. Even if it is your brother," She ended and stood up, leaving her chair wide open as Eric lowered his head, wiping his thumb against his cheek and bitterly smiling.
'Then I will protect him also.'
Saphire went downstairs into the VIP room, watching as the guests glanced at her as usual. Except this time, her face was dark and her hands were clenched in fists. The door to the private conference room was closed, but Saphire knew that she was there. As Saphire opened the door with a pass code, she entered and immediately saw May passed out on the table. May was faced down, her frilly white button-up was crumpled and she was lightly breathing in and out.
Saphire sighed as she looked at May's unconscious body, getting out her phone while keeping her eye out on May. "Sebastian..? Come here."
May woke up on the back of a still Callex, who was staring off into the road, seemingly waiting for someone or a car. "Mn.." May nuzzled her had into his broad shoulders while he looked over his shoulder, grinning a little. "Are you okay?" He asked and May nodded. Noticing that she was on his back, her feet just swaying here and there while he head was woozy.
"You can let me go.." May whispered, her hands resting on his shoulders, closing her eyes tiredly. Callex shook his head, "It's fine. You're not that heavy."
May glanced up in disbelief. "That's a lie.. you're just strong.." She whispered and Callex once again glanced over his shoulder, "I'm not lying. Just stay still so you don't fall."
May grunted, resting her head once again on his shoulder, ".. How long.. have you been carrying me..?"
"About.." Callex started, humming in thought, "Half an hour?"
...
"Half an hour..?" Her voice was groggy as she began wiggling her feet. "Let me down.."
"No."
"Callex, let me down."
"If I let you down, you're going to hit the wall or something."
"... Cale," May began, releasing her arm.
Callex replied, "Yes?"
May began getting more aggressive, "Let me down." Callex sighed before replying to her stupid drunk statement one more time. "Let me down.." Her voice was getting more tired as Callex saw a nearby familiar car, before stepping near the sidewalk.
"The car is here, let's go," Callex said and May just hummed silently, her eyebrows deeply furrowed. "You didn't let me go yet.." May said, her tired body just slumping on his back while he was walking to the car. Her voice was now quiet but her hands tightly gripped his neck.
"You say to let you go, but your hands are gripped around my neck," Callex laughed and May grunted quietly once again. "Let go.. mmn.." May groaned and after that, Callez heard slow, heaby breathes, indicating she was asleep.
"You talk so much," Callex said. He was glad that May didn't see the scar on his cheek from the slap from Saphire.
He gently placed May inside the car, and let her rest soundly on his shoulder while he began to tell the driver where to go.
Carrying May on his back once again, he knocked on the door when Saphire answered, "Who is it?" Saphire asked, before glaring at the visitor at the door. "I asked for Sebastian to get May, what happened?"
Callex had his blank face on, before looking down at Saphire in her pajamas. It was currently three in the morning, which meant both of their jobs had already ended. They both heard May grunt before waving her hands, her eyes still closed. "Saphireeeeee.. let's just go in.." May groaned and Saphire rolled her eyes before moving aside, letting them both in.
May was gently placed down on the soft white couch in the living room of the first floor before Callex sighed and cracked his knuckles, smiling at May's sleeping figure. Then he went down to business, glaring at Saphire. Saphire was doing the exact same.
"Where is Eric?"
