May grunted, glancing into Daven's crazy eyes before lifting her entire body, hanging off his tan wrist before kicking him straight in the abdomen, where the cut Saphire gave him ended. Emma's machinery was beeping rapidly every second, the nurses falling to the ground in fear as someone having a weapon inside a building meant to save people. Immediately crying in pain, Daven fell to the ground, shivering while May crouched down and picked up the pistol. When he fell back, May could feel something cold and sharp scratch against her skin, peeling it off as a warm liquid fell. It was his ring. Callex and Eric kneed his elbow and bent it inward in an awkward angle, breaking his arm. He screeched in pain while May panted, heart heavy and uneasy as she had the pistol pointed at him, the red hand marks slowly appearing on her pale neck.
It was not like she has no been strangled by a crazy, mad man before, but it was just that she was afraid of putting anyone's life in this room in danger, especially when it was all the people she loved. In a midst of confusion, May stopped and lowered hise yes, gulping before also lowering her hands. "Take him to jail," May said and Eric and Saphire immediately lifted him up with his now useless arms while Callex ran over to May's side. Callex's eyes were dark, seeing May's pale hands covering her neck while her hand which dropped to her side clenched on the pistol tightly.
"Let me see," Callex demanded. May shook her head, moving her hands and covering her neck with her dark strands of hair, "I'm fine." May turned around to the scared nurses and helped them up, "I'm sorry for all this trouble," She apologized. She could see they were still shaken and sighed, turning to Callex before looking back at them. "You guys can go out, we'll take care of her," May said and the nurses immediately rushed out, some in tears while others helped the panicking ones out.
May walked to Emma's side before sitting down, sighing once again and holding her hand to her neck, knowing that it will bruise later on. "I'm sorry, Emma," May apologized to her older sister, before grabbing her hand gently, "Today was supposed to be the day you moved on." She could see Emma's endless tears rolling down her cheek while her heartbeat slowly calmed down. "We'll be leaving now, have a good rest. You'll be safe from him, come back to us soon," May gave a little sad smile before standing up, still seeing Callex with a guilty and dark expression on his face while he focused on May's neck.
May frowned, "Don't worry about it anymore. It didn't hurt," May said, walking past while her face stayed without emotions. Callex stayed, his head lowered before turning around and following behind May, his hands clenched into fists while thinking of ways to possibly end someone's life without anyone knowing. Callex quickly caught up to May with quick, fast-paced strides, before gripping onto her thinner arm and twirling her around. In surprise, May turned around in confusion while her hair whipped away, revealing her darkened neck. "What do you want now?"
"Let's get this fixed first, May." Callex said, eyebrows furrowed and May sighed, yanking her arm away before rubbing the back of her neck, "I'll get Euna to heal it for me," May said and Callex insisted, "Let's get this fixed, now." May looked up at this stubborn man before agreeing, reluctantly letting him grab her wrist and walk down to the front desk before asking for an extra room. May looked in confusion, "You can do this?"
Callex nodded, "Yeah. This is our family's hospital." May's eyes widened in surprise, "Yours?" "Yeah, ours." May sighed, before shaking her head, "I should've known," She said before he dragged her away into a special room with equipments. She sat down on top of the table while he sat on the chair, and gently took out a few medicine and bandages. "Be more careful next time," Callex said, clearly still angry and disappointed while his face was dark but his hands were gently pressing medicine on her neck. She hissed when the spicy medicine touched her bloodied wound. "Why didn't you clean out the blood first?"
"I cleaned it out. It's bleeding again."
"Then you should've done something to stop the blood from running for a while. Use heat or ice."
Callex's hands hesitated for a while, before his deeper voice answered, ".. You think I'm going to do that to you?"
"Mm. I've been injured like this before, but worse. Just burn up the blood first to close the wound, and then clean the blood and apply medicine. It'll be fine."
"I'm not going to do that. Now shut up."
May rolled her eyes and looked away, letting Callex wrap the bandages. He carefully lifted her long hair, rolling the bandages once, twice, and three times around her neck gently before taping it off nicely. May jumped off the table, sighing while silence erupted on the other party. Before she grabbed the curtain which separated the room away from the hallway, she heard his deep voice, ".. I'm sorry."
May turned around in surprise, "What?"
Callex turned around and looked at her guiltily, "I'm sorry for not being able to protect you today." May immediately cringed at this apology and waved her hand, "Don't be. This is a cliche apology, please don't apologize for something you couldn't control." Callex sighed before following behind her and leaving the room. "Call Saphire," May said, looking forward and Callex's face turned to something in confusion. "What happened to your phone?" Callex asked while taking out his phone. "My phone's dead."
It wasn't weird for Callex to have both their phone numbers, especially since he had the signed paperwork for shared business. "Ah.. dealing with two days of work from the bar is going to be hard."
