These past few weeks, I have already established a daily routine that will work when classes starts.

Some activities might be moved when I have a gig or when I have a morning class, but it's basically all set.

For example, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, Mari and I have breakfast together before we go jogging. We either eat here or in his place next door. Sometimes when one of us oversleeps, we ditch the breakfast and just have brunch after the jogging. We figured three times a week is enough.

We also visit the fitness center, but only when they have classes like dance, martial arts, etc. I always prefer to go with Mari. He knows almost everybody in these classes. He said he has been attending for more than a year already. His favorite class is the dance class, but I haven't tried that class yet since the instructor went on vacation or something. I will enroll as soon as it resumes.

I shop for groceries every Wednesdays. I only shop supplies good for a week so I have an excuse to go grocery shopping weekly. I actually love shopping for food. I spend more time there than shopping for clothes.

Sometimes Mitch and Andie goes jogging with us when they both visit on weekends.

Movie night is still a thing. Sometimes we just watch dvds or use netflix when there's no decent movie showing.

I am adjusting well with my new "normal". Plus, I am extremely happy with my new squad. I didn't think it's possible for me to have more than one best friend.

How are things between Mari and I? Well, he's part of the squad so I consider him one of my best friends.

Sometimes I think he's flirting with me, but I try not to give meaning to it. I'm happy with what we are now. Good friends.

...

Today is Wednesday, grocery day. I decided to clean the whole house first before I go out. I was cleaning my kitchen counter when Mitch called. I put her on speaker phone.

"Hey, girl. How are you?" She asked.

"I'm cleaning my kitchen right now, but we can talk. You're on speaker." I said while wiping the kitchen counter. "So, what's up?"

"Nothing much, I just called to tell you that something came up so I won't be able to visit you this weekend." She said apologetically. "I was so looking forward to our Netflix and chill night." She sounded dismayed.

"Aww...that sucks, but I understand. You have to do what you have to do. And don't worry, I'll just tell Mari and Andie." I answered now wiping the gas range and oven.

"By the way..what's up with you and Mari? You guys are pretty close now. Are you two..a thing now?" She asked a little hesitant.

"Mitch, don't start. You know we're just good friends.." I said almost sounding disappointed.

"Then why do you sound a little disappointed? Look, I know you're not ready to enter relationships yet, but you can't deny the natural chemistry you guys have." She said.

"I know..I enjoy his company too much. I am with him at least 4 times a week. Sometimes I think he's flirting with me, but I don't want to assume." I explained.

"You have to be honest with him. Ask him up front. If he sees you as just a friend, then good. But if not, then at least you can also tell him you're not ready. That way both of you know what to expect from this special relationship." She suggested.

"I don't know...part of me is afraid that things will change when I do that. For now, I'm just happy with our set-up, with our squad. Can we just keep it at that? At least for now." I countered.
