The rest of our voyage back to the resort was fun and light. Mari continued to share stories about his childhood and anything else that he can remember. I ask questions and even share my own stories when applicable.
I positioned myself in front of him while he is stirring the wheel. From time to time he gives my shoulder or my neck soft kisses which directly sends electric waves throughout my body.
"So.." I slightly turned my body so I can face him. "Are you and your stepdad close? I mean how's your relationship with him?"
"Well..we tolerate each other. He's actually the reason why I'm in graduate school now." He said, his eyes focused on the water. "You see, he really wanted me to manage his many businesses when he retires. Of course I didn't want that. I guess, I agreed to study just so I could at least make my mom happy. She wants me to get along with him so bad. I decided to just give him this compromise, at least I'm here in the Philippines and not in Spain." He paused for a while and looked at me. "Besides, I can't get mad at him for forcing me to do it. In fact, I should thank him. Because it's where I got to meet the most beautiful, craziest person that I'm madly in love with." He chuckled. "I love you."
My heart swelled. "I love you too. So much."
I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him on the lips. He returned my kisses at first but he stopped after a few seconds.
"Babe, let's continue this later. We don't want to go overboard." He chuckled and continued driving.
We reached the dock at around 4pm. He held my hand as we got off the boat. I noticed his mood changed though. He looks like he is anxious and a little nervous right now.
"Love, what's wrong?" I asked curiously.
"Hmm..Nothing. It's just that, I'm not sure if you'll like my last surprise.." He said hesitantly.
"Come on." I chuckled. "I'm sure I'll love it. A while ago you were so excited about it. What changed?" I laughed amused at his cute reaction. This is the first time I ever saw him doubt himself.
We walked closer to the beach. The sun is almost setting, I looked up and saw the sky starting to turn auburn. It's breathtaking. I love this color.

I looked at Mari, he is holding my hand but he is looking down and kept running his other hand through his hair.
He stopped walking and faced me. He held both my arms and look me in the eye. I look at him with equal passion. I love the color of his eyes in contrast to the seascape and skyline behind him.
I am truly mesmerized.
"These past few days showed me just how blessed I am to have lived in this lifetime doing what I love and then having to spend it with you..You know, when you came along, you did not just walk into my life, no. You came in full speed ahead without warning." He chuckled. "You drove me crazy..crazy and madly in love with you.."
