The Battle of Yokai Academy

Smoke rose across the skyline, flames engulfing the left bell tower of Yokai Academy. The terrified cries of the students filled the air as they ran from horrific and strange animals. It happened so suddenly, there was no way anyone could have seen it coming. Each was different in shape and form.

There were rock-like crab and rhinoceros hybrids; white, black and red lizards that spewed horrid green gas and scaled, black sabretooth cats with blade tipped tails that could move at impossible speeds. The air was controlled by large, purplish bugs and gem-adorned bats. Most terrifying, there was a gigantic dinosaur-like creature with many legs prowling the grounds, attacking anyone who came close.

While some of the students and teachers had tried to fight back, the remainder attempted to flee. Standing above it all, on a flying carpet, was the Headmaster. He looked down on his precious academy with a solemn frown.

"So, this is how it ends," he said as part of the academy clock tower fell to the ground. "I wonder what they will do now?"

The members of The Cute Girls Fan Club Coalition had fled into the forest surrounding the academy. Each was dressed in the academy uniform with a pink garb draped over their shoulders. Kouzou Kasahara led the charge with Kubisaku Naga following close behind. Gouzaburou Taira lagged, desperate to get away from the carnage.

"Run faster Gouza!" Kouzou cried, looking back towards his friend as sweat dripped down his brow.

"I'm going... as fast... as I can..." Gouzaburou wheezed between breaths.

Suddenly, there was a terrifying shrill cry from above. The three, pink-clad teens looked up with wide eyes to see a crystal-adorned bat flying overhead.

"Oh no! It's found us!" Kubisaku cried, biting down on his thumb.

"Shhh!" Kouzou said, slamming his hand over his taller friend's mouth. "Maybe it hasn't seen us."

The creature let out another piercing scream before diving towards the ground. As it fell, its body changed. Its body mass increased and became fat, its wings disappearing and being replaced with stumpy little arms. Large, purple, gooey sacs grew all over its body. Finally, it slammed into the ground. It was now an entirely new creature resembling a grey grotesque frog with sacks. The only thing that remained the same was the red collar around its throat. Growling and drooling, the strange animal looked towards the three like snacks, licking its lips with a long prehensile tongue.

"What is this thing?" Gouzaburou cried. "How was it able to change like that?"

"Here's a better question, how are we gonna get out of this?" Kouzou whimpered. "Should we fuse?"

"No time!" Kubisaku cried. "It's coming!"

The creature rushed forward, slobber escaping its open mouth as the other teens screamed in fear. Just as the creature was about to reach, they heard the hurried sound of heavy footsteps from the side.

The three teens looked to the side in time to see a blue-tinged humanoid dinosaur man wearing a blue sash crash through the trees, tackling the strange creature mid gallop. The two creatures rolled around the ground, the impact from their bodies cracking it. The fanboys found themselves unable to move as the two creatures began taking swipes at one another, the frog-like creature finally landing a blow on the dinosaur man, leaving a scratch across his chest.

"Gah!" the newcomer cried, clutching at the wound. Following on from its attack, the predator tried to tackle the other fighter. But, this time, the newcomer was ready. As the predator got close, the newcomer used his free arm to deliver a powerful upper punch to its chin, sending the creature flying into the air. When it crashed back into the ground, the dino man rushed over and grabbed hold of the red collar around its neck. Straining its muscles, the dinosaur man continued to pull until the collar snapped.
