The rest of the week was more of the same.
By Friday Lyra was ready for a break. She spent the weekend cleaning and rearranging her tiny apartment. She had slowly collected items and made the place cozier.
She had found and recovered huge pillows with fabrics she collected in the markets and second hand stores. They were eclectic colors and she loved the way her tiny space was shaping up.
Stacking them together with comfortable pillows, she had managed to create a couch that doubled as her bed.Several weeks ago, a neighbor had left a small loveseat out for trash. Lyra had sweet talked a couple of young boys into helping her wrangle it back into her apartment. She found she enjoyed the task of deciding how to refinish the upholstery.
The last several weekends she had scoured tiny stands and rag shops for unique laces and patterns and textures of fabrics for the couch. It became her escape.
She felt her mind clear of all worry when she was creating. She had forgotten what it was like to lose herself in her art. She had missed that feeling of being safe and whole.
This weekend had been the same. She had finished one end of the embellishment of the couch. She loved it. She would no longer be ashamed if Jungkook came to her apartment.
That thought stopped her short.
She had not thought that part through well. She began to grow nervous over him picking her up.
The thought of him in her room, warm and close, powerful arms holding her, those lips...She threw herself on her bed, squealing into her pillow, giggling like a maniac. Her imagination ran wild.
Jungkook had been busy in the past week as well. His whole team had checked security for the government contract. He felt they were protected, but something small nagged in the corner of his mind. He had been an investigator long enough to know to never ignore that feeling, but he was having no luck determining what he was missing.
He thought of Lyra often. He knew things were tense between Jin and Dae and that Alex was the root of most of it. Alex was doing everything she could to force Jin into marriage.
That was another reason he was on edge; he knew to never trust Alex.
Jin knew it too but was neatly trapped by that woman and his father. He was furious about it all and that meant he was in hyper work mode. And when Jin worked, everyone around him worked.
Saturday morning Jungkook lay staring into his closet. He could see several of the suits Tae had picked out for him hanging there.
If Tae ever tired of his security position he could easily make his living as a model. He breathed fashion and loved to tell his friends what to wear.
Jungkook frowned. He walked into his closet and picked through those suits. One by one he discarded them for one reason, then another.
Most of them brought memories of parties past or of blurred memories of sexual acts with women, women he could no longer call to mind their name or face.
He decided he had to start with a clean slate.
Lyra is very creative and is working hard to make her tiny place cozy, especially with JK coming over!
