As Jin sat staring out across the city, a light knock disturbed his thoughts.

Turning, he was surprised to see JK at his door.

He was wearing jeans and a black tee shirt.  The stretch of the shirt across his chest told Jin that he had not been lazy during these weeks.

His hair was long, curling to tuck behind his ear.  Jin smiled. He had not realized how much he had missed talking to him every day.

By the look on his face he had news.

Jin waved him to the couch and met him there with shot glasses and the whiskey decanter.

“Sorry kid,” he teased “the modeling agency is down the street!”

JK laughed at him and grabbed him for a long hug.

“Says the man with that face,” he answered.

They nodded and took a drink, then a seat.

JK wasted no time in giving Jin his report.

“It has been really hard Jin.  She has been angry since she found out I was your security chief. We have really struggled.  I have spent hours poring over reports and she has insisted she had no information. “

“Today she got a text threatening her family.  It was the break I needed to get her to talk.”

“She came to the city as a trainee for a midsize talent agency after her mom died.  She trained for a couple of years.  When she turned 17 things started going the wrong way.  She was pulled out for “special training”.”

The younger man paused.  The tone of his voice had Jin leaning forward.  He read the situation correctly as suddenly JK stood and started to pace, anger radiating from him.

“She has not told me everything that happened then,” he took a deep breath and Jin watched as he swallowed hard before raising his eyes to meet Jin's.

Jin saw the hurt and anger in his friend’s eyes and braced himself for what was to come.

“There were pictures Jin, and video. Whoever did this posted a picture online.  Her face was cropped out, but it was her body,” JK stated, his voice thick with emotion.

Jin pitied the person who had done this once JK found them.

“They told her if she did not cooperate, did not do everything she was told, they would post them all.  They told her they would sell them, say she agreed to do it for money. They also threatened to harm her family.  Th….Th….” Jin stood and put his hand on the young man's shoulder.

“We'll find the bastards Kookie,” he calmed him.

JK took a couple of deep breaths and gathered himself again.

“Once she got here, she could not do it.  First, she was afraid of you, then I think she developed a crush on you.”

“Well….I mean…look at me,” Jin interrupted, giving them both the tension relief they needed.

JK laughed and continued, “then SongDae was so kind about the Gala and then I….she….” He trailed off unable to finish.

“She fell for you,” Jin finished for him.

JK blushed and dropped his head, “It is complicated.  I hope one day it is simpler.”

Jin nodded.  He knew exactly what he was saying.

“Jin, she does not know, but she did tell me I had to come here.  She told me there were things here I needed,” JK waited for Jin's response.

“What do you need? Take it, anything,” Jin answered.

“I hid her laptop that day because I did not trust the police to correctly extract the information and then to share it.”

Jin nodded his understanding.

“She told me that there is also a calendar with all your appointments and that she kept a work diary with detailed information about everything that happened in the office on a daily basis,” JK finished.

Jin nodded at him and he moved to Lyra's desk and searched for the items.  His hands stilled as he found a stack of notes she had stashed in a small drawer next to a dried s sunflower wrapped in tissue and ribbon.

Jin recognized JK's bold scrawl on some of the notes. He put his hand on the boy's shoulder and gently told him, “take anything you want.”

JK did not meet his eyes, but he nodded and resumed his search. After a few minutes he had gathered several items and retrieved the laptop from its hiding place.

“You did not see this,” he cautioned Jin.

“Not one thing,” Jin confirmed.

Determined not to waste a minute, JK hugged Jin once more and turned to leave.

“I'll be back as soon as I find something,” he promised.

Jin stopped him with a simple question.

“Taehyung?” he asked.

“I am sharing all information with him.  Do you want that to change?” he asked.

“No,” Jin answered “I want his involvement.

JK nodded and hurried out, Jin's hope tucked in a bag over his shoulder.

Jungkook took the things directly to his office and unloaded them.

He carefully stored the computer away.  That would be much too complex to even start tonight.  He checked his notes and saw his best cyber specialist was out on medical leave.

He cursed long and hard at that.  He would have to work out that detail Monday.

For now, he meticulously logged the items he had taken in, listing each one and putting them in secure locations.

At the bottom of the bag he found the stack of notes he had grabbed on impulse.

Most of them just had his name in Lyra's perfect penmanship, noting that he had stopped by the office or had asked to speak to Jin.

He traced the J with his finger.

At some point she had changed from writing out his whole name to shortening it to JK.  He smiled at that.

He liked the way she had created a unique design for the letters, bold and masculine, intertwined around each other.

He idled with the thought of having her design a tattoo for him. He cursed himself as he remembered his intention to get her a project to work on.  She must be so bored at home by herself.

He turned his attention back to the stack of paper.  There were several notes he would study later.  Right now, nothing was jumping out at him.

He glanced at Lyra's work journal and she immediately had his attention.

Her notes were neat and rich with details, documenting dates and times and those present.  He was sure these contained information that would help.

Finally securing everything away, he sat down at his desk and stared out at the city streets.

He had already decided he was not going back to the apartment tonight.

Lyra had been so vulnerable and he did not just yet trust himself near her.  She had felt too good in his arms.

They still had much to talk about and he could not afford to lose his focus.  Not now.
