Dismissing him with a smile, she returned her attention to Jin.

“I know she was questioned by the police Jin, you should have told me,” she said, her disapproval evident.

“The police told us they found nothing and could not proceed. They ended it there,” he responded.

“Well, she disappeared after that. I tried to talk to her, but she would not answer me. So, I took matters into my own hands “she explained.

“I helped her get that apartment so I was finally able to get in and check on her,” she said.

JK frowned. He had all the surveillance. He had even checked his notifications just before he came into the meeting.

“I found this,” she said, opening her bag and drawing out a computer, “this has everything on it you will need.”

“It has all those disgusting pictures and videos. It also has the government documents and the emails. I also found this,” she pulled out a cell phone and laid it next to the laptop. “It has all the texts on it.”

Jungkook closed his eyes. He reached into his pocket and felt Lyra's small, simple phone in his pocket. He always had it on him in case another threat came.

He could almost feel the vibe in the control room as Alex's words condemned her. Was she really that stupid?

Obviously, she was, or that confident that Lyra would cave in to her threats. They had never mentioned the texts outside the investigation.

Jin was taking deep breaths, trying to hide his reaction.

“You went into her apartment?” he asked. At Alex's nod, he continued.
He made to get out of his seat, saying “We need to go. She needs to be questioned, taken in again.”

Alex touched his arm and stopped him. “She is not there Jin. She has packed and left. There was a letter there. She confesses everything,” she said, passing over a folded letter.

Jin scanned it and handed it to JK.

He did not have to look to know that it was the confession that had been included in the envelope. Alex had forged it, just as she had threatened.

“I would not be surprised if she has already left the country and disappeared,” she finished smugly, confident that travel manifests would show Lyra departing the country in about an hour now.

She sat back and crossed her legs, pulling her skirt to expose her thighs, satisfied she had neatly ended the only obstacle between her and the Kim fortune and status, the man a pretty bonus to the deal. She smiled at Jin seductively.

“Now, let's put all this unpleasantness aside and proceed with celebrating our union. Surely you have some decent champagne in this place.”

“I will send for some. I feel a celebration will be in order. First, I am sure Jungkook will have some questions,” he said smoothly, drawing out his phone and sending a text.

A phone in the control room buzzed, the agents nodding and heading toward the conference room. Lyra and Dae both took a deep breath, waiting for it to finally be over.

“When did you retrieve the laptop,” JK asked.

Alex stopped, trying to calculate. She had not expected to be questioned.

Min Lyra was a nobody and she would not be missed when she disappeared. No one had seen or heard from her in weeks.

SongDae was out of the country, banished by NamJoon she had heard.
