JK watched as her face flamed crimson.

“She brought me the box of used clothes from one of her secretaries and instructed me to wear them.  She had arranged an interview. I hated the clothes, but I had nothing else.”

Jungkook thought of the simple clothes she always wore and his heart hurt for her knowing now she did not pick them, in fact hated wearing them, but that was all she had.

“I had no idea what the interview was for, but they kept calling me back.  I was shocked when I found out that I would be working for Mr. Kim.  He terrified me.”

“I was hired and settled in.  I saved my money and got my apartment.  I started sending most of my pay to an account in my grandmother’s name.  Things were so hard at work, but I was trying my best.”

“Then the texts and emails started. First it would be “you look pretty today" or “I saw you on the second seat of the bus"   I was so scared.  I thought it was someone stalking me.”

“Then there were texts about pictures.  I thought they were saying that they were taking pictures of me now.  Then they sent a link to a social account.  It was one of the pictures of me,”

Her voice had gone flat again, like she was removed, telling someone else's story, not her own.

Jungkook was sitting close, leaning into her again, his blood running cold at the risk she was under, or the things that she had endured.  He had been right.  She was too easy to track, too exposed to danger.

“Then things started to change.  There were more comments about the office or Mr. Kim.  Then one day the first demand came.  I got a text telling me to go into his office and take a picture of his desktop and all the papers there and send it to an email address.  I was horrified. "

" I refused for several days.  Then they sent me a picture of my grandmother.  I was sick all day, begging them not to hurt her. They again demanded the picture.  That was what I was doing the morning you came in, except I got caught and only send one picture of the end of his desk. "

" Before I sent it I got word to my grandmother that she had to leave.  I told her to go somewhere that  I could not even find her, and she has.”

The tears started again and he waited till she composed herself.

“I sent the bad picture and they were furious.  They sent curses and threats for hours, but I knew my family was safe. Mr. Kim suspected me and now I know you did too.  I hoped I could be so bad at this that they would give up.  But I was not so lucky"

“The threats continued, now they were threatening to release the pictures and videos, but Ms. Choi said they had been destroyed, so I did not know what to think. "

" I tried to do just enough to get by, but I could tell they were getting angry.  One instruction was to report his social life, who he was dating, where they went.  He got really angry at me over that.  I did tell them about Kim SongDae, but after she was so kind about the Gala, I never reported anything about them again.”

“There were several other odd things.  I started keeping a log of the texts and emails to see if I could find a pattern, discover who was tormenting me, but I never could.  It is all locked away in my desk at work,” again she paused to collect herself.

“My last text before my …. Before I was questioned came when I woke up after the Gala.  It told me to get into the office immediately and report everything that was happening."

" All of you were in the secured briefing room and I stayed in the office suite.  I truthfully reported I had gathered no information.”

“After SongDae left I did not get any more texts. I never logged into Mr. Kim's computer.  I never took or copied documents from files.  I never sent them from my computer.  I don’t know who did this.  I wish to God I did so this would all be over,” she ended, tears streaming down her face.

Jungkook was overwhelmed with the need to hold her, but he knew they had a long way to go before their issues were resolved.

He kept that in the front of his mind as he moved away from her and asked the questions he had to ask.

An hour later he had a stack of notes in his hand on his way to the office.

He had made such Lyra was safely in bed and watched her fall into exhausted sleep almost immediately.

He watched her for a minute, thinking how brave she was and how much she endured, alone and afraid.

It was time for this to end.

So, in my feels today, and a full disclosure

So, in my feels today, and a full disclosure.  I entered a WP contest, (I know, I know...they begged for hyung line books) and I got this review

" really slow and uneventful, if you know what I mean.  The whole book was romance based which becomes boring at some point and it would have been better if it was a short story."

The other said "spent alot of time explaining how they felt"

Ok, that stung....but fair criticism.  I get lost in what the characters are feeling and expressing and experiencing, and maybe that drones on a bit.

So just know that makes me appreciate all of you that much more, the ones who savor the story, who catch the details and smile at the phrases.  I love you for that.

All this to say that I love these two and this story will ramble and in the end I think they are worth it!!!
