The morning came and still they slept, arms and legs tangled with the covers.
They were doing a fantastic job of ignoring the outside world until JK heard his phone ringing.
The first time he convinced himself it was a dream. Then it ran again. He cursed and looked for his phone, following the sound into the bathroom.
He frowned to see Jin's name and he braced himself to answer.
He could tell immediately his friend had a tenuous grip on his temper.
“JK, I need you in the office. I am on my way in now. I got a text this morning. I will send it to you. Jungkook, I need this over…now! I cannot lose Dae, not now, not again,” Jin explained.
JK looked back into the bedroom at Lyra snuggled in all the covers, taking up his side of the bed. He knew exactly what Jin was talking about.
“Got it!” JK answered,” give me 15 minutes and I am on my way.”
Jin thanked him and ended the call.
Jungkook started the shower and went to explain things to Lyra.He cursed all the way back to her side. He was not ready to leave her. He laughed and told himself to be honest. He would never be prepared to leave her again.
She blinked hard when he called her name, trying to wake up for him.
“Shhhhh…..shhhhhh,” he crooned,” soothing her back to sleep,” I have been called into work. I have to leave. I will call you later.”
She frowned, but nodded. He caressed her hair and kissed her, then forced himself to move away.
Fifteen minutes later he was stepping into the car. He checked his phone and found the message that Jin had forwarded.
Jungkook felt the fury rise inside him.
Jin was waiting in his office when he got there, pacing and cursing.
He looked up to see JK waiting for instructions on how to proceed. He needed to hear the plan for ending this nightmare.
