Danny's POV
After I brushed my teeth with the spare brush Maadwoa gave me, the guards call and tell me that they are outside, ready to pick me up.
"Maadwoa, the guards are here to pick me up." I tell her, knocking on her room door. She quickly opens the door and gives me a smile that makes my heart jump.
Admitting my feelings for her last night was one of the most nerve-wracking things I've ever done. I don't know what I was thinking but it just came out. I wanted her to know how special she is and that someone else cares for her. I know she believes that I couldn't possibly like her but she is so wrong. She's different and I have real, strong feelings for her.
"Let me see you off." she tells me, and I make a way for her to leave the room.
We quietly make our way out of the house, as her aunt is still asleep, and she quietly closes the door behind her. The limousine is parked at the side of the house and we slowly walk towards it. As we walk in comfortable silence, I feel a smaller, soft hand gently hold mine and I look down to see Maadwoa grabbing onto my hand with a smile. I squeeze her hand in mine and smile back.
We get to the side of the house where the limo is parked and before I can take another step, Maadwoa grabs my arm and stops me from moving. I look down at her and she gazes up at me with her sparkling, brown eyes.
"If your offer from last night still stands, I think... I can give it a try." she says bashfully with a childish smile.
Well that definitely woke me up. I smile as I feel my heart perk up at her words.
"Really? Don't feel like you have to. I just -" I start but she shakes her head with a smile and lets go of me.
"I want to. I can't deny the fact that... I have feelings for you too." she whispers quickly, looking at the ground nervously.
I smirk when she says that. It's good to know that the feelings are reciprocal.
"What? I didn't catch that." I say, trying to mess with her.
She looks up at me before covering her face and shaking her head playfully.
"You heard what I said." she tells me with a small giggle.
I smile at how cute she's being and remove her hands from her face. She scrunches her nose and a tint of red appears on her cheeks.
"Thank you for giving me a chance. I won't let you down." I promise her and she plays with her fingers nervously.
"I won't either." she says and I smile.
The guards blow the horn of the limo, making us whip out heads over in surprise. I roll my eyes at their impatience. Can't they see I'm busy?
Maadwoa scratches her hair. "You should go before you get in trouble."
I reluctantly nod with a sigh. Before I leave, I lean forward and place a soft kiss on her right cheek. I swear I could feel intense heat radiating from her face. When I pull away, she stares up at me with wide eyes, unable to speak. I smirk at the effect that had on her.
"Please, text me later. My contact is saved on the phone already. See you soon, beautiful."
"O-okay. S-see you." she stutters, making me chuckle. She's too cute.
I wave at her and head to the car. I open the door and sit in with a smile on my face. I'm so happy Maadwoa is giving me a chance at a relationship. I've never felt like this with anyone before.
"Good morning to you both." I greet.
Robert drives away, saying a good morning while Kwaku clears his throat.
