Danny's POV
I promised Afia I would go shopping with her today and this girl decided to wake me up at 9 a.m. (earlier than I normally wake up) by calling me on the phone, and telling me to quickly bring the limo to her place so that there are less people there.
So right now, I'm in the limo with Afia, Paulina, and Joy, and we're heading towards one of her dad's malls. Afia sits next to me taking selfies on her phone while her friends sit across from us, admiring and touching the velvet seats.
I dislike going to the mall but I am doing this for Maadwoa. I really want to buy her things for her birthday and I actually have another surprise in mind in addition to the clothes. It doesn't seem like her aunt will get her anything, judging from the way she treats her in the house. For her own reasons, Maadwoa does not want to tell me, but I suspect that her aunt maltreats her in the house. From the first time I met her crying to yesterday when she was trapped in the closet, I don't believe that her aunt is treating her properly. I don't want to bother Maadwoa about it because it's her personal life, but I want her to know she can trust me.
I am broken out of my thoughts when I feel Afia tap my shoulder. I glance at her and she shows me her phone screen. I squint at the phone to see her swiping through the selfies she just took.
"Which one do I look better in?" she questions.
I look at all the selfies with on her face and I chuckle. Do girls do this for fun?
"You look great in all of them." I tell her with a chuckle.
Paulina and Joy look at each other and excitedly whisper while Afia blushes with a smile.
"I mean, I know that. But which one is profile picture worthy?" she asks herself, looking through them again.
"Danny, thank you for allowing us to come today. I hope it's not a bother." Joy thanks with a smile. Before I can respond to her, Afia looks up from her phone.
"Call him 'Prince Danny.' Have some respect, Joy." she scolds her friend, and Joy's face falls.
"I'm sorry. I meant, 'Prince Danny'." Joy corrects.
I narrow my eyes at Afia, agitated by her behavior. I look at Joy again with a small smile.
"That's fine. You can call me Danny."
Afia sucks her teeth from beside me but shakes her head and turns to face me.
"Unfortunately, it's against some weird law for me to shop in the mall for free but since my dad owns it and you're a prince, we'll get a huge discount."
I nod at her. I wouldn't even mind paying full price for the items but since I'm being handed the discounts, there is not use in fighting it.
"Prince Danny, are you paying for all of us?" Paulina asks incredulously.
"No, just for me." Afia answers and I raise my eyebrows. If her dad owns the place, why do I have to pay for her?
"Don't you guys have your own money?" Afia questions. They nod and Afia shrugs.
"Okay then." she says, going back to her phone.
Well that was uncalled for.

We get inside the mall and since it was pretty early, there weren't many people there yet. The guards decided to come in with us because it's a public place. The few people that were already there looked shocked to see me and they quickly made space for us to walk through. I felt bad that they had to do that but there's no use in trying to change their minds.
