Maadwoa comfortably lays on her couch, holding her phone over her face as she taps through a story on Episode. Her aunt had left her in the house to do her own grocery shopping and Maadwoa was enjoying the peace. She laughs out loud at the screen when the character roasts his teacher's receding hairline.

Her laughter comes to a cease when she hears a loud knock on the door. Her face scrunches up in confusion because she wasn't expecting anyone today. Her aunt wouldn't have knocked since she lives here and her friends barge in at anytime as if they live here as well. Maadwoa puts her phone down and stands up, adjusting her black biker shorts as she does. The person bangs on the door again, triggering Maadwoa to roll her eyes at the person's impatience. She slowly opens the door a crack, peeping her head out a little.

Her eyes fall on an unfamiliar boy. He was a bit shorter than the boys she usually sees around but he was also stout and thick. He was fair skinned with a little moustache above his lips. A boyish grin was plastered on his face but Maadwoa just narrows her eyes at him.

"Hello." he greets with the smile on his face.

"Um, hi. Do I know you?" she asks with an eyebrow raised.

He chuckles. "No, but my family and I are new in town and they are actually waiting in the car. They want to speak with an adult in the house."

Maadwoa raises her brows, a little smile falling on her face. She wasn't aware that they were new people in their area but she was excited to meet them.

"Oh, welcome to the neighborhood. I'm Maadwoa."

He nods with a smirk. "Kelvin
Nice to meet you."

"Likewise. Um, my aunt isn't here right now, unfortunately." she informs him. Kelvin smiles to himself. That's exactly what he wanted to hear.

"Oh. Well that's fine. My parents may still want to meet you. Do you mind us coming inside?"

Maadwoa shrugs with a nod. There's no harm in meeting new people. "Sure."

Kelvin smirks as she steps out of the way, allowing him to walk in She stretches her neck to look around for the boy's parents. The shiny, red minivan was parked to the side of the house, but she couldn't see through the tinted windows. She figured they would notice their son entering the house and follow him, so she leaves the door halfway open. She narrows her eyes and turns to looks at Kelvin, who was standing next to her with the same smirk on his face.

"Um, will your parents come in?" she questions him.

Kelvin scans the living room, making sure no one was in sight. It was small and the walls were an ugly shade of brown. He cringes. If not for Afia, he wouldn't have come here.

"My parents aren't here." he simply states with a shrug.

Maadwoa cocks her head at the stout boy in front of her. Her lips fall into a straight line. Did he not just mention that his parents were in the car?

"What do you me--"

Before she can complete the Justin Bieber lyrics, a strong hand collides with her face in a quick motion. The force of the slap sends her to the floor. Maadwoa holds her cheek in her hand and she starts to hear a loud ringing in her ear. It felt like the slap had left a handprint on her cheek. She looks up at Kelvin with wide eyes and a scowl.

"What is wrong with you?" she asks, raising her voice a little higher than it usually is. She slowly picks herself up from the ground and Kelvin allows her to, giving her a deadly glare.
