"Kinakabahan ako, wait lang!"
Gavin held his chest dramatically as we opened the website that records the passers of the UPCAT. He was so nervous, he looked away at the cam. Pumunta siya sa likod ko at sinenyasan na akong i-open 'yon.
I heard him praying a lot last night and even this morning.
"Ang arte mo," singhal ko sa kaniya.
I tried scrolling down to find his surname then here it is! His name on the passers. He passed the test!
"Walang Gavin dito," I said trying to sound disappointed.
"Hanapin mo, scroll ka lang," sabi niya habang nakatalikod pa rin sa akin. He's scared now.
"Better luck next time, babe," I uttered and looked at him with sad eyes.
"Seryoso," he tried looking at the screen and refreshed it. He scrolled again and saw his name flashed on the screen.
"Congrats!" Masayang sabi ko at nag-pout naman siya. Akma siyang iiyak kaya hinawakan ko ang pisngi niya. "Iiyak ka ba? Hoy hindi pa board yan!" I laughed and kissed him on the cheeks.
"I made it!" He said proudly. Tumango ako at ngumiti sa kaniya.
Yeah, you made it love. I am proud.
"Yung sayo naman," masayang sabi niya na parang nabunutan ng malaking tinik sa dibdib.
"Huwag muna?" I asked awkwardly and tried to stand up.
"Anong huwag, sakmalin kita diyan." He pulled me and opened the new tab of the laptop. He typed the website for the results of admission test sa Ateneo.
"Babe, wait lang!" Pigil ko sa kaniya pero nagpatuloy lang siya sa pagt-type. I immediately touched his hands at ginulo siya para hindi namin makita ang amin. I can feel what he felt a while ago.
"Wait lang babe, ang gulo e." He's busy scrolling.
I covered my face with my palm and moved to the corner of my bed. I was drop dead nervous. What if I can't do it! I promised kuya pa naman.
"Babe!" Sigaw ni Gavin at tumingin ako sa kaniya nang nagtataka. "You passed! We made it!" He shouted and I can't explain what I felt that time.
I slowly leaned near the laptop to see if he's saying the truth and he did! I passed.
"Omg," halos mautal na sabi ko.
Yumakap ako sa kaniya nang mahigpit dahil sa saya. Halos maiyak na ako sa gitna ng yakap namin. I was so excited, I even choked him with my hug.
