Chapter 40

"Let's go back, it's geting cold in here. Bakit ba wala kang shawl?"

Tanong niya sa akin habang nakakunot ang noo. I smiled deep inside knowing he cares for me. I missed how he used to care for me back then and I'm feeling butterflies right now as he asks me this question.

"I thought I'll join the bonfire activity," I slightly chuckled, still composing myself after that crying session with him. 

It feels so light right now at parang buo ang puso ko. The wind of the sea dances with my heart. Ang alam ko lang ay masaya ako.. kahit alam kong walang kasiguraduhan ang kasiyahan na 'to. 

"I thought, too," napailing siya at tumingin lang sa taas. His polo dress with three buttons down sways with the strong, cold wind. 

His naughty hairs fly and he seems to look hot with this kind of posture. How can someone be gorgeous?

"She's on the hotel room, ayaw niyang lumabas," he said na agad ko namang naintindihan. 

Somehow  in the past, I realized I was just like Matilda. Everyone is like Matilda. We are finding ways to get along with the person we love, either bad or good. We are desperate to be loved to the point we can't see our own worth. 

Nagiging mababa tayo dahil sa pagmamahal. 

But in the end, you won't care like how I don't care anymore.. dahil ang gusto lang naman natin ay magmahal at mahalin. 

"She deserves happiness, too," I smiled bitterly. 

Maybe we are not really for together dahil mayroon mas nangangailangan ng pagmamahal niya. It is hard for me.. but for others too. 

"You, too," he looked at me with intensity on his eyes. 

Natawa ako nang bahagya habang nilalaro ang mga buhangin sa paa ko. "You know what? I wished time to come back on the times we used to enjoy back then," I am starting to tear up again. "I feel it's happening right now.. pero bakit parang mahirap? Parang mahirap ibalik yung dati?"

"Is it because of her?" He asked with calmness on his voice.

"I already felt that happiness before, Gav." I gave a small smile at him but his expression didn't changed. "Someone needs that happiness from someone, too.. and for Matilda, it's on you." I kept on smiling kahit masakit na sa loob. I removed my gazes at him and bit my lips to stop myself from crying. 

"P-pero paano ako? Do you think I am happy?" His voice cracked as he utter those words. I felt a pain in my chest as I heard him.

I looked at his pleasing eyes. I can't help but to admire him but also pity for our situation.

"H-hindi ko alam, Gav. Let destiny lead us to what we really are," I said, frustrated.
