Wang Yibo's POV:
Cleaning his wounds was my priority. Carefully applying the medicines on them, not once did he wince. His stare was blank. The spark in them were dimming slowly. He could take the libel in his name but he couldn't stand mine to be dragged along. The room was dark save for one faint foot light. The television was long switched off and I was careful not to step at the pieces lying on the floor.
"Zhan Ge" my voice was coarse and I saw him turn his face at my direction "let's get some sleep" his calmness was a facade and I knew he was hurting. Covering him with a thick blanket, I kissed his forehead "I'll clean everything and come back to you" there was no answer from his end. He just chose to turn the other way and close his eyes.
Walking back to the living room I cleaned the pieces. Fishing out my phone I saw various missed calls from Mom, Dad, Omma and Appa. I first called my Mom "Ma" my voice was soft when she instantly picked up the phone "Bo" her voice was assuring enough but I knew this was not the time to break down.
"You saw the news?" I asked and there was a small hum at her end.
"We did" she paused and I heard my Dad asking her to place the call on speaker "Bo, we're flying down to Korea from the States. We should reach there in few days. Kimmy said that they too would be reaching soon" I heard Dad speak "hang in there, alright?"
"Yes" mine was just a whisper when Mom spoke "Be strong for Zhan. He needs you the most right now".
"Hm" was all I could say when they concluded the call by telling me that they loved both of us. Keeping my phone aside, I closed my eyes to breath when I heard Omma's ringtone.
"Omma" I wanted to stay strong "Bo" judging by her voice I deduced that she too was aware of our predicament "we'll be there soon. I have already spoken to 'Day and Carter Law firm'. They're file a formal complaint against the news agency first thing tomorrow. Don't you worry darling, we're all here to support you" Omma's voice was soothing my soul but I knew when she asked me about Zhan Ge, I couldn't tell her the truth or else she would hyper-ventilate.
"Come back soon" was all I could reply whilst disconnecting the call. Wiping my tears I walked back to our room and in seconds joined Zhan Ge on our bed and took him in my arms. That night neither of us slept but it was comforting to know we're here and together.
