Xiao Zhan's POV:
"We cannot accept your terms Mr. Dawson" my voice is firm and stern.
"Dr. Xiao" I could hear a slight smirk in his voice "you think you're under any position to dictate terms with us? Dr. Xiao, don't forget, half of your sponsors have backed out from your project. We're one of the few who are still investing. This is our proposal".
What a joke!
"Mr. Dawson, the other half of the investors who are sponsoring our project aren't performing charity. They're still our investors because" I rest my back against the chair and rebuke sharply "they know in today's music industry my company is the only bankable project that gives them good returns. My company has Asia's best artists collaborating with us. If the entertainment industry is surving, then I must say, it's because of my family and my family is my XZ Entertainment".
"Dr. Xiao..." Mr. Diaz one of the director tries to intervene when I gesture him to stop with my hand "Mr. Diaz, let me complete. The original contract between both the parties clearly state the terms and conditions which also includes the consideration amount. Turning back to the original direction to face Mr. Dawson, I reason out "I have no qualms with the Investors who have backed out. That's their lookout and rather if people are going to judge my work on the basis of my sexuality, then good riddance to such homophobic personalities. My work speaks and so does my company" I smirk "and let's accept one fact if we're sitting on this negotiable table, then you know my worth. This is my final claim" my voice is loud and clear.
"If you still wish to negotiate which is not acceptable by us" I pause for effect "then let's cancel the entire contract and we won't even penalize you. I'll personally reimburse my artists but henceforth" I clasp my fingers together and cross my legs with an air of deliberate condescension "no one in my industry would work with you. Under what circumstances would they? When there is lack of good faith, I am sure they would all strive to be away from you and your industry. Think about it".
I push my chair back and stand with Mikhail by my side when Mr. Diaz pleads "Dr. Xiao, we understand your concern but try and understand our predicament" I hear footsteps walking closer to me "Give us 24 hours" he says when I turn towards his direction and cut his trail of words "12 hours Mr. Diaz. My plane is ready and waiting for me to board. I have an extremely important Charity Event to attend back home and have no time to spend here unnecessarily but" I smile with uber confidence "since our companies are acquainted with eachother for quite number of years, I'll give you 12 hours to give me your answer. Remember, public mind is fickle. One single Million hit from me and my investors would be back.
