The day before the ball had came, and that only meant one thing: the families arrival.

The whole morning I prepped myself to appear as natural as a selected girl could get, and then we was all voluntarily directed to the main hall to wait on our kins to arrive.

Charleston's parents came in first. A tall thin man with jet black hair and pencil thin glasses appeared first stuck in suit with a suitcase at his fist, but by his side stood a woman with fiery red hair and a mature lady like figure. They approached Charleston with steadiness, saving their utter excitement for later.

Pipers father came in surrounded by three personal guards, a suit, and thick black glasses despite the shade of the castle.

Then the moment of truth arrived, as I heard the evil screech of Maria Khroker in the driveway.
"Hold my bags, and don't even think about setting them down! They cost me an arm and a leg!"

Little did she know, I was eager for that sentence to be taken literally.
Then her stern frightening figure appeared under the door way, with her usual tight black pants suit, and microphone pressed to her ear so she can talk to all of her employers.
"Oh, Genny dear!" She stepped forward swinging her wrists in the air, and hips with a swerve as she pecked her daughters cheek obviously smacking annoyingly on gum.

I ignored her wretched glare, as the next family member entered. This time a tall manly figure appeared silhouetted from the heavens.

"Daddy?"

It was as if was being blinded by the shining sunlight behind that I could barely recognize him for his broad radiant figure.

"Now darling, I don't think someone this perfect can be born twice!"

He says sarcastically, his bright red beard moving with his jaws as he laughs, rushing into a quick hug.
I jump up to his level, my legs kicking up behind me as I embrace the figure I've also known to love.

"How are you doing, sweet pea?"
His deep raspy voice sounds like he has strep as he fends threw my lack of straight and crumbled up hair to speak.

"Great..." Is all I can muster, as I can't believe my dad is right in front of me.

Then his elevation drops, as he gives me back to gravity, and wanders over to his other daughter.

"Genevieve! You look darling!" He says, sounding astonished but then like it was a casual thing.

My happy grinning figure fades, as jealousy and envy creeps into my veins forcing the love out of me, and bringing in the hatred for my step-sister who gets nothing less then all of the attention.

The royals stand partially in the sitting room, and partially watching the reuniting of the girls and their families.

Gus stands in the doorway, eyeing me suspiciously. Probably curious as to why my dad's also hugging Genevieve, because we all know she's far from the publics favorite.
I just simply shake my head and with a quick eye roll to avoid getting on the subject.

"Delilah?"

Obviously aggravated, I turn around to see whose calling my name, but the aggravation is rustled into a huge uncontrolled smile.

"Aunt Francine!"

Her dark coal red hair was down in it's natural fluff, and I can see she pulled out some of the makeup that she had saved up for something special. Dad must've talked Maria into letting Aunt Francine burrow a dress, because not only was the dress nice, but two sizes to big!

Aunt Francine dropped her very minimum amount of bags, and rushes into the hall to embrace me.
At that moment, she takes me in under her chin and smells the roots of my hair like it's somewhat refreshing.

"I've missed you so much!" I mutter carelessly into her pale collar bone.
"I've missed you more, Del!"

Us being the last family to arrive, Queen Hero caressed Gus' arm.
"Well, let's eat!"

-

It was by far the best meal I've ever eaten at the palace, and by far the most talkative.
I told Aunt Francine about every living second in the castle, and even the possible future things.
It was magical, and a moment I never wanted to escape, but like every fairy tale moment it was needed to be gone some time or life would never truly move on.

I felt a hand grip on my shoulder,
"Hello Lady Delilah!"
I turn my head to see Gus, smiling broadly at me.
I hear dad cough from a couple seats over, and Gus quickly removes his hand from my shoulder and smiles awkwardly.
"My mom wanted me to invite your whole family to lunch, before the the ball tomorrow."
Before I could fathom the thought, Aunt Francine was already spazzing away,
"Oh we'd love too!"
and Maria even budded in, "How exciting it'll be!"
I just nodded. Not even Maria could ruin such an refreshing morning.
