"Delilah, dearest, do you wish for a new dress for today's lunching?"
I just shake my head, watching Wanda sew my big ball gown for tonight as Tinsley flat irons my long blonde hair at my request.

"No, I'll take an old dress. It isn't even that big of an occasion."

I hear Aunt Francine scoff behind me, bouncing on my bed. "Not a big occasion, are you seriously trying to be modest right now? Delilah, your about to have lunch with the royal family! Including THE QUEEN for Christ's sake!"

I roll my eyes, as they continue to fix me up. "We're kind of on a first name basis, so lunch with Hero isn't that big of a deal. Just lunch with my friend."

God forbid me say that, because Aunt Francine went off the hook.
"On a first-name-basis?! Your royalty in training! Where's the crown? Oh fuck I can't breath!"
She literally fangirled for ten minutes straight, in her day dress and fresh makeup.

After containing her, and putting a lid on her madness, we left for a nice brunch down in the gardens. Of course we arrived late, because Aunt Francine tripped down the stairs at least three times with the complimentary heels she received.

Then finally, with one foot in front of the other, we arrived under the canopy in the gardens where the royal family sat.
King Everette sat head first with "Queen Hero" by his side. Then sat Princess Aria, Alexandrea, and finally Gus in the dead center in front of me.
On my side, sat dad at the other end of the table with Maria by her side, Genevieve at his left, and Aunt Francine at my side.

"Well, it's a bit more company then we expected, but well manage."
I take a moment to drag my nails threw my hair as Gus examines my face, questing why Genevieve was here. Honestly, I had no idea. I guess Maria took Gus' request to me, as a request to Genevieve as well.

"Well, Genevieve introduce your family, dear." Says Maria, stroking Genevieve's hand.
I rub my temples in hope of distinguishing the new grown migraine.

"Well, this is my mother." I watch as the royal family questioningly stares at her introduction.
"She's the CEO of a major modeling business in Clermont, and that's where I get my summoning talents from!"

I quickly grab a fork and dig into my food before I do something else with the sharp utensil.

"This is my step father, Miller-"
at this I grow furious, as I let out a cough, "my dad!"

It sounded clear, but Maria crabbily says, "Now Delilah, that was rude! Continue dear."

Aunt Francine grips my wrist so I don't brutally murder someone.

"Anyways, this is my amazing step dad, Miller Primar."

King Everette nods, "So your Delilah's father?"

He swallows the noodle he'd just put into his mouth, an nods.
"Yes, Your Majesty. Best thing that's ever happened to me."

At this I smile, but Maria laughs. The things I would do to that women that would cause life long torture.

"Well, to change the subject," Hero begins. "Are you enjoying the weekly checks, Ms. Francine?"

Aunt Francine jumps at her name being mentioned and nods sheepishly,
"Yes, I've enjoyed it very much! Very useful for the monthly bills."

"Speaking of money, I've been receiving a much higher pay raise." She says, questioning it towards the King.

"Oh, Mrs. Khroker, did you not receive the letter my associates sent you?"

At this curiosity mention, I'm suddenly interested in the subject, sitting up to pay close attention to the conversation.

"A letter? What about?"

King Everette pushes away his plate and his hand swallows Hero's hand, as he breaks the news.

"Oh, Mrs. Khroker...I'm afraid your getting the extra pay of money, due to the fact that your being paid as a six, along with the Primars. Since Miller is your husband, and originates from Atlin, you must move there with your husband. However, my assistants are still digging into the situation, so checking your mail would have to be a required hobby."

She sits, stunned. "I mustn't move! I mean, he's lived with me most of my child's life."

"And he still will. You'll be moving in with him. In no way should it have ever been the opposite."

"Well of course, I'm going to have to think over my decision."
Says Maria, standing up and wrapping around her cover up.

"What is there to decide? You love my dad right?" I question sarcastically, standing up myself.

"Dear, a loving heart is no match when it comes to a career." At this, she storms up with Genevieve at her side.

"Well there's your difference! You never had a loving heart. Just strong devotion for unneeded attention!" I scoff, pushing my chair in. Then I continue.

"I hate to end this lunch early, but family issues have suddenly rose before our eyes, and I must go sought out what I just witnessed."

Gus stands too, but not out of being a gentlemen. "How come you didn't tell me?"

I help Aunt Francine up, and my frankly astonished father, "because she's irrelevant."

"But your supposed to tell me everything?"

Despite the kings orders for him to stop, and me trying to get away to my family I manage an answer.

"If you were kin to someone you hated, would you brag about it?"
And with that, I drag my family away from the disastrous lunch to prepare myself for the Christmas Ball.
