After breakfast it's our time to live. Some choose to go into the Women's Room and chat, draw, or even just like the subtle feeling of being in the presence of others. I, however don't appreciate their gossip and their non-stop talk about Gus. About their dates and all other explanations I don't want to hurt anyone about. So I spend time with people that are meaningful and treat me as an equal.

"Hold this!" Charleston places a book in my hands as she holds the other steadily between her finger tips.
"What are you doing?"
"Okay, China bet me...that I couldn't balance a book on my head. I'm practicing." She whispers careful so her voice doesn't somehow vibrate the book in any odd way as she places it on the palm of her head
She outstretches her hands walking like a woman on a tightrope as we round the curve to go up the stairs.
The first couple of steps were hard for her, as I balanced her so she wouldn't fall. The second flight of steps was a bit complicated. "You know, Charles. I've been meaning to ask you if you wanted to hang out some time. Like let's just sit and chat, because all of those other girls are boring."
She smiles. "So I'm not boring?"
"No, your boring, but I can just simply deal with you." She laughs causing the book to fall to the floor.
"See Delilah! Always distracting the peaceful!"
I laugh as she stops at her door,
"See you at dinner." She says before disappearing into her room, sure to keep her door close to shut.

It isn't moments later I'm at the farthest end of the hall in front of my room. Again, no guard so anyone's libel to break in and rack my stuff.
I twist the knob and step through the doorway. My maids are twisted in the corner all standing around a dress, making sure I can't take a glance.
"Oh miss, the Prince left you some thing."
My attention turns from the huddle of my fairy god mothers to the "something" Gus left me.
It's a medical book. I look at it and rub the crease of the pages as I read the sticky note.

Thought you'd like this, so you could be Miller Junior.

It was like a piece of my dad here with my in Angeles. I look at the book once more, as I take a couple strides towards the vanity where I place the doctrine novel. The novel. A book. I look down to see Charleston's book still in my hands.

I quickly dash out of the door and out into the hall in front of room 17. I press my ear to the oak, but I hear no motivational whispers or no grunts in disappointment. Is Charleston even in here? Her guards gone so I do it. I twist the knob silently, and I see her alright. Snuggling on the bed with a figure that's still unclear, I'd need to open the door fully. I simply place my fist to the wood and knock three times, not waiting for her to tell me to come in.

She sprung up from the bed in surprise as her mystery lover runs behind the drapes. I make sure to close the door as Charleston spats at me, "Do you not know how to wait?" I look at her sternly ignoring her as her look of fear turns into hurt.
"Tell him to come out."
"But-"
"I won't tell." The figure steps out behind the drapes and there I see him. My guard. Officer Feldspar.
I look down, not even capable of catching her glance.
"I just couldn't make a connection with Augustus, and then Willow introduced me to Saige, and-"

I cut her off absorbing her freed information.
"Willow introduced y'all?"
"Yes."
"Listen, Charles. Stay away from her, I don't know what it is but she's bad news." She looks down in disappointment, but then looks up to lock eyes with "Saige."
They appear to me in true love.
"Aren't you going to scold me?" She asks, but I step forward sure to keep my voice down.
"Leave."
My reply catches her off guard as she stares at my confused.
"What?"
"Leave."
"What do you mean leave?"
I rush to the door to hear if anyone's coming...no one.
"You have to go. This is has to be a trick, Willow must've done something-"
"She's cool, Delilah. Chill out." She states staring at me like I'm psychotic.
"Charles, do you know what happens if you caught?" She shakes her head.
"You'll be caned, or if needed executed." Her eyes enlarge as Officer Feldspar scoops her up into his grasp.
"Do you truly love him, Charleston?"
I ask taking her hands, and she nods.
"Then leave, before your caught and my best friend is dead." I can't help the tears sliding down my face.
"I'll need a couple of days, to come up with an alibi." She states as Officer Feldspar steps forward.
"You...Saige Feldspar...you'll need to stay. So it won't be suspicious."
Charleston grips his bicep as she looks into his green eyes, both of their glares together creating an indestructible emerald ray of sight.

"What happens if I leave?" He asks, his voice deep. "You tell me."
He knows. He'll be stripped from his title and he'll be considered a useless retired veteran in two with only the money he managed to scrape up in the job as a retirement plan.
"Plus Charleston's smart. She'll get a good job, and then you can quit."
They both look hesitant, but I step towards the door.
"I swear I won't tell no one. Just, leave as soon as you can Charleston. I love you like a sister. But I'd rather have an alive long distance friendship, than have a close dead one."
And with that I dash out her doorway, fearful for the friend I've loved and grown close to's life. Despite my love for my friend, she must leave a healthy physically able three, and with that happening it'll change this whole game...competition...outcome...for forever.
