This morning at breakfast, you could hear my maids skittering and singing about my date with Augustus to all the others. For us selected, it's a competition, but I never realized how it would affect Tinsley, Wanda, and Patsy.
They would be out of their rags and into a more formal attire. They would spend every moment they could spare with me, as Queen. It's unimaginable, but for them it's like a dream, to have treated a royal, and not just a girl who was lucky enough to get selected.
Then later after breakfast, they dashed around my room getting ready for my second date with Augustus Schreave.
"Tinker, get all the makeup on the table. We'll decide the colors later on along when we introduce the dress."
Patsy ordered, scrubbing me in a lavender smelling oil, which she noted was his favorite.
Suddenly the door thrusted open, and in came my hazel colored maid with a plastic bag being toasted above her bonnet.
"Hello Wanda!" I say, naturally used to being exposed of my nudity to her.
"Hurry, chop-chop...hello dear!" She says, placing the dress on the bed in the room next to the bathroom.

After being scrubbed of lavender smelling oils and perfume, they placed me in front of the mirror for an our at least fixing my hair and makeup, which was rather done splendidly.
My hair is long, and straight. My bangs are no longer hovering over my eyes, as my stay here has been so long that they've been grown to natural length, at my shoulder blades.
My make up is done lightly, only skin toned powders, tan eyeshadows, and fairly little mascara and eyeliner.
Then lastly, my dress.
It's long, silky, and thin as it slides past my hips and to the bottom of my feet. The torso is silky and narrow, finally beginning to hug my breasts and shoulders with many diamonds and other shining crystals decorating the cream colored gown.
"You look absolutely stunning, Mistress!" Patsy says, fluffing out the bottom of the un-fluff able dress.
I stare at the back of her gray head,
"Mrs. Patsy, I command you not to call me Mistress. I've commanded you about 10 times in the past month." I joke.
She just shakes her head, walking over to the jewelry box where she wanders to my white beaded necklace,
"It's in the rule book, Lady Delilah."
I smile at her smart comment,
"Well not to question your intelligence, Patsy, but I create the rule book. So no more Mistress, Miss, or Lady. I'm Delilah Primar. I'd like to be referred to as an equeal, and not a higher standard. After all, I'm a born six. I was a regular home maid, and you guys are palace maids. If anything I should be consulting y'all with curtsies, and creating y'all dresses." I say, squatting to Patsy's short level so she can intwine the white beaded necklace my aunt got me around my neck.
"Oh, just shush and let me get you ready, Delilah. Plus, you should be getting down there any minute!"
They all do last minute preparations before shoving me out the door, leaving me to go have my lunch with Augustus.

I slick my shoulders back, earn some elegance, and I begin my couple yards travel. I start down the stairs, past the flock of girls going to lunch. Some eyeing me suspiciously, and others giving me thumbs up. As others, I mean Charleston.
I stop at the garden doors where Officer Feldspar and Officer Hamilton open the doors, leaving me to entrance my second date.

I started off trailing the stone path that I remembered from my encounter with Charleston the night before, and eventually I was led to the dead center of the acre of gardens. In the center was a table, no food, no Augustus.
"Hello?" I ask, suddenly becoming sick to my stomach. Augustus couldn't have stood me up. He isn't that shallow, or shallow at all.
That's when I feel a clutch of hands around my waist, and them send shivers threw my bodies as the victim of my next hit says, "Boo!"
I turn instantly popping his masculine tense bicep, as Augustus laughs,
"Your so mean!" I say, walking away from him toward my seat where I act like an aggravated five year old.
He dashes forward to the seat in front me.
After a couple minutes of him apologizing and me ignoring, a servant comes out with our meal.

Mid-way threw devouring our lunch, he breaks the ice, "So, Delilah, do you think you can tell me your story now? Considering the second times a charm."
He smirks, as I lean forward, propping my elbows on the table, breaking rule number #7 on Cornelia's Elegance List.
I cough and absorb a huge breath of Angeles air, "It's not that fascinating, but whatever soothes your sanity." And I begin my story. About how I started roughly, but happy, and how I ended up in a spoiled rich province and in the worst condition. My moms tragic death, and my dad's new found lover. The only things I left out, was Genevieve being my kinsman. It would just tense up the selection much more than needed.
"So..." He catches a long breath, "...that's the story of Delilah Primar. The story of the maid in disguise."
I laugh, rolling my eyes, "Way to sound so cliche."
He wipes his mouth with a napkin, and laughs also. I however, stare at him curiously, sturdily staring at his elegant figure.
"Do I have something on me?"
He asks, wiping around his mouth and dragging his fingers threw his golden hair.
I simply shake my head, and I mutter, "Your just so uptight." I sit back, crossing my arms. "The way you walk, talk, and even laugh is just so taught. Like you learned it in a lesson and life's your test."
He coughs, "I can be cool." and he stretches backwards mocking me, crossing his arms, but this time kicks his foot on the table which falls off dragging the table cloth and all of our eaten dishes down to, breaking the glass plates.
I try sustain a mature glare, but the guilt on his face sends me into utter laughter.
"Oh my god, my moms going to kill me!" He says, placing his head in his hands sounding rebellious.
"Well," I stand after containing myself, "If she's going to kill you, at least do something worth killing."
He stands as well, curious to my request. "What do you mean?" He deepens his voice, and slouches a couple inches.
I grin a broad smile, and I say loudly, "Scream your biggest fear." I dare.
He searched his mind for his biggest fear and screams awkwardly, "FAILING?"
I want to fuss for not saying a better fear, but his fear truly hurts me. If he fails in his role, all of Illéa would not respect him as a man. I feel his pain.
"What about you, miss know it all?"
At this I scream loudly, "DEATH!"
He looks at me, and I see concern in his eyes.
"It seems to me, both of our fears suck, so let's come up with a better thing." I change the subject scanning the are and that's when I see it.
I dash from my formal stance and towards the great walls of the palace.
"DELILAH! WHAT ARE WE DOING?!"
The way he screams my name is electrifying, as I reach the end of the perimeter of the palace, my lungs burning, and my heels in my hand.
He finally catches up, his head between his knees in exasperation.
"Wh-" he inhales, "...What are w...we doing?"
I smirk, jumping across the growing plants and onto the bottom stone, overlooking the height of the wall.
"You've only been outside of these fences once."
His eyes grow wide, "Delilah..."
"We aren't going to go out there, we're just going to witness from the inside."
At this, I begin to dig my toes into the large cracks in the stone.
He hesitates, coming up behind me, preparing for the climb.

After I reach the fourth crack, I begin to receive levitation from Augustus, who has to support from my waist so I don't go flying backwards and breaking my spine.
Then finally, I reach the height, sprawling on the top, and then eventually catching my balance so I can stand like a civilized human.
I tip toe, my bare feet tracing itself against the cold stones.
Then when Augustus crawls up behind me, we witness it.

Beyond these walls aren't high buildings or reserved mansions, but snow capped mountains and evergreen trees reaching as far as they can.
My breath is caught, as I witness the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
"Augustus! This is amazing!" I say, clutching his hand, intwining our fingers for the sake of my safety.
He grins, "It's just like I remembered..."
Then, the clouds flush over with it's light grey colors, flooding over our heads, blocking half of the sunlight, leaving the other half to ray down in different directions.
Then like an instant, dense most begins to fall from the heavens, damping the walls, and more importantly me. My hair is soaked as it's blonde color turns into a light tone of brown in the natural liquid. My dress however, clings to my legs as I have to latch on to Augustus for the sake of not slipping off.
I see off into the distance, the maids and servants that are on duty, under a canopy, keeping themselves away from the rain.
They probably see two immature kids, risking their life's just to see a herd of trees and mountains.
I laugh playfully, squatting preparing to jump. Augustus, who jumps first, prepared at the bottom waiting for me to fall.
"I don't know..." I say, suddenly becoming nervous.
"Just come on!" He urges eagerly,
"But you won't catch me. What if I weigh to much?" I say, reading ever females thoughts whose probably lived out this moment.
"Just jump!!!"
For once, I don't see Prince Augustus Maxon Shreave. I see Augustus. The boy with a sarcastic hot attitude, and a rebellious side. I don't see a crown, but the rain dripping from what was once his golden locks.
In that moment, I take his advice. I jump into his arms, and we bounce with compaction, but then after a moment he sets me down restfully.
"Come on!" He grabs my hand and drags me soaking wet towards the canopy. However we didn't sit under it, we stood beside it.
"Can I get some music please?" He turns his head towards the musical servants who instantly begin to string the instruments.
He turns toward me, while I give him a blunt stare.
"I thought we agreed on a laid back, no elegance, date."
He smiles.
"What we just did was not laid back. That was reckless and all you. And it's breaking guy code to not asking you to dance."
He bows, and enwraps his arms around me as I hesitantly dance.
"Don't go crying when you have broken toes." I smirk, dancing slowly along with him as the mini-orchestra.

I want to argue with him for forcing me to dance, but I have a feeling in my chest that's storing this moment.
His white button up is soaked, revealing his abbs (which I have no problem with.)
My soaked chest is compressed next to his, our hearts feeding off the other, as we dance to the rhythm.
I glance up, and catch myself in a stare.
The rain drops down from his now light brown hair, onto his eyelash, and then rolls down his face. The first time I see him up close, witnessing all of his imperfections. Oddly, I adore each of them.
He laughs, he deep god like eyes sinking into the depths of my soul, eager to snatch my heart right from my body as the action next from him is uncontrolled.
His hands leave my waist and hand, and are nicely set on neck. He takes a moment staring at me, letting me agree to the next move. Then it happened.
He pulls my neck forward, as our dripping lips fit together like puzzle pieces that's been needed to be fit for so long. My heart begins to pace, absorbing the moment.

Then reality hits. The fairytale gone.
He's been on several dates. How many more girls has his lips touched theirs? How many other girls got their heart stole by his dark gorgeous eyes.
I don't know. That was the fear. I had no idea how many more girls have had this moment. The thought becomes unbearable as I break apart the kiss, I slowly begin to back away.
His eyes squint, confused as I force myself into a jog.
I have to get away from him. I cannot fall for Augustus Schreave.
